Summary

This tier list is based on the creator's personal experience after playing for over 2 days. It's subjective and intended for F2P players who want to focus on earning in this game, though even those who buy Architect Land of Exile Diamond will find the rankings useful for choosing a main. The core verdict: Mage and Hunter are the strongest overall, Assassin is at the bottom. The ranking revolves around three factors — farming efficiency, MP regeneration sustainability, and how well each job fits different content (PVP, Boss fights, AFK grinding).

Architect: Land of Exile Job Tier List: Best Class for F2P, Farming, PvP, and Bosses

1. The Foundation: There Are No Blue Potions

The single most important thing to understand before picking a job is the MP system.

There are no SP potions in this game. Skills consume MP (the blue bar), but the General Merchant NPC does not sell blue potions — only red potions that restore HP. This means you cannot spam skills freely. You must rely on MP regeneration to sustain your skill rotation.

Where does MP regen come from? Mainly two sources:

Codex (collection system) — some codex entries add MP regen, HP regen, or accuracy. You unlock these by hunting, completing quests, and running dungeons.

Equipment and cards — codex equipment must be hunted or bought on the exchange. Big spenders can just buy them; F2P farmers sell them.

The practical implication: every job choice must account for whether its MP consumption matches your MP regen capacity. Even if you unlock and equip every skill you have, you won't be able to use them all — the MP drain is too high. Most players end up equipping only 3–4 skills out of the 6 available slots.

2. The Five Jobs — Detailed Breakdown

Warrior — Melee AoE, But Short Range

Role: High attack, high defense, high survivability melee class. Not gender-locked — male or female, your choice.

Skills: Storm Slash (rapid slashes), Earth Tremor (ground slam AoE), Blade of Rupture (wide sword swing), Leap Slash (dash forward with uppercut), plus a pull skill that drags enemies in. Has a stun, and the stun duration in PVP is very long.

Problems:

Melee class in a game where ranged jobs dominate farming. Even with a dash skill, you have to close distance while mages and hunters kill from range.

MP consumption is high, and there's no clear MP regen passive. You depend on codex and gear to compensate.

In crowded farming spots, melee jobs get left behind — the ranged jobs kill everything before you reach it.

Only one true AoE skill from what's shown.

Verdict: Fun, but mechanically disadvantaged for the game's main grind loop.

Mage — The Overall Best

Role: Ranged magic DPS with the widest AoE coverage.

Skills: Mana Bolt (basic), Flash (electric AoE), Spiritual Explosion (ground explosion at target location), Ice Spike (ice AoE), Hell Flame (high-damage fire skill). The AoE coverage is the broadest of any job.

Core advantages:

Fastest leveling job on the Korean server. This is the most popular job for leveling and hunting.

Ranged class — safe positioning, kills before enemies reach you.

Likely has an MP regen passive skill (creator notes this, asks for correction if wrong). If true, this solves the game's biggest sustain problem.

Strong in PVP, strong in boss battles, strong in AFK grinding.

Caveat: You still need fairly high mana regen from codex and cards. Even the Mage isn't exempt from the MP economy.

Verdict: S tier. The safest, most efficient all-around pick.

Battle Priest — The Hybrid Support

Role: Axe-wielding ranged/mid-range class that blends damage and healing. Leans toward support but is not a pure healer.

Skills: Smite, Chain Fire (damage + knockback), a pillar-summoning AoE magic attack, and powerful healing abilities. Also has accuracy buffs like every job.

Core advantages:

Healing is a hard requirement for boss content. The game has world bosses, field bosses, giant tower bosses, and more. Priests will always be needed.

Ranged class — not stuck in melee range.

Can be built as support, as DPS, or as an AFK grinder. Flexible.

Very useful when hunting difficult monsters, even if raw damage isn't top-tier.

Caveat: No stun skills. Damage output is lower than pure DPS jobs.

Verdict: A tier. Excellent for team play and boss content, decent for solo.

Hunter — The Money-Maker

Role: Ranged physical DPS, bow user, crit-focused.

Skills: Mostly single-target — Fire Strike, Rapid Fire (with stun), Tracking Arrow (can cast while moving backward, stuns in PvP). Only two AoE skills: Multi Arrow and Soul Rose. But the damage is described as "the most painful."

Core advantages:

Best farming profit job. If your goal is making money, monsters need to die fast. Hunter is one of the best DPS jobs for farming and grinding.

Dominates the field boss, world boss, and giant tower rankings.

AFK grinding is efficient — but note these spots are usually PK zones.

Creator personally tested 8 hours of hunting and got 2 blue equipment drops, which was considered good.

Core problem:

MP regen is a real weakness. The Hunter's specialization tree gives HP regen, not MP regen. You must find MP regen from equipment, awakenings, and enchants.

Squishy when enemies get close. AFK farming needs attention.

Verdict: S tier. Best raw farming efficiency, but requires investment to solve the MP problem.

Assassin — PVP Specialist, Farming Disaster

Role: Melee burst, stealth, control.

Skills: Heavy on stun and knockback. Shadow Surge (teleport behind enemy, chance to stun), accuracy buff skills, stealth. Core gameplay is closing distance and locking down targets with a control chain.

Core problems:

No AoE skill. Pure single-target. You kill one monster at a time while mages and hunters clear whole packs.

No dash skill. You must walk to every monster. In competitive farming zones, you're always last to the kill.

Slow grinding. Cannot compete for rare drops or field boss tags.

Melee range in a ranged-dominated game.

The one advantage: PVP. Long control chains, stealth engage, accuracy buffs. If you feel you're lacking accuracy, Assassin is the best at fixing that.

But: The creator notes that accuracy isn't as desperately needed here as in RF Online. Even on auto-mode, you can finish the main quest up to episode 4. Accuracy matters for big bosses eventually, but it's not the top-priority stat.

Verdict: C tier. Only pick if you're committed to PVP and accept terrible farming income.

3. Final Tier List

Tier

Job

Key Reason

S

Mage

Widest AoE, ranged safety, fastest Korean server leveling, likely MP regen passive

S

Hunter

Best money-making efficiency, crit DPS, dominates boss rankings — but needs extra MP regen

A

Battle Priest

Healing is irreplaceable for boss content, flexible hybrid, ranged

B

Warrior

Fun but melee disadvantage, gets left behind in crowded spots, MP drain

C

Assassin

No AoE, no dash, slowest farming. PVP value only, and accuracy isn't a must-have stat

4. F2P Job Selection Guide

If your goal is making money: Pick Hunter. Kill speed determines drop rate. Hunter is the optimal rare-equipment farmer.

If your goal is easy AFK grinding: Pick Mage. AoE clear + ranged safety = stable overnight income with low death risk.

If you have a fixed team or love boss content: Pick Battle Priest. Healing is scarce and in demand. Gear requirements are lower than pure DPS.

If you only play PVP: Assassin is viable, but accept that your farming income will be terrible. Needs heavy investment to come online.

If you love melee feel: Warrior is playable, but understand its farming efficiency is below ranged jobs. It's a "play for fun" choice.

5. Final Warnings

You cannot switch jobs. The job you pick at the start is final. There is no job-change system, and no costume gacha that follows your job. Your starting job determines your entire career.

Skills are bought, not dropped. Skill books come from an NPC. Red skill books are available at lower levels; green ones require rank-ups. You need level 80 and completed quests for the fifth and final awakening. This isn't like other games where you farm skill drops.

Equip fewer skills than you have. Because MP is so limited, you'll typically run 3–4 skills, not all 6. Build around MP regen first, damage second.

This tier list is one player's opinion. The creator explicitly asks for corrections and feedback in the comments. Use it as a starting framework, not gospel.
