Summary:
Dark and Darker Season 10 is entering its final stage with Hotfix #126. The update adds the Tavern Volksfest event, stronger dungeon rewards, doubled Artifact drop rates in High Roller, increased EXP and Adventure Points, an Unreal Engine 5.8 upgrade, new dungeon entry rules, and multiple class balance changes. Players should use the remaining Season 10 period to collect loot, increase Adventure Rank, enjoy the limited-time event, Dark And Darker Gold, and prepare for EAS11.
1. Join the Tavern Volksfest Event
The Tavern Volksfest event introduces several festive items and limited-time cosmetics. Players can find Festive Ale, Golden Festive Chalice, and Honeybliss Pear during the event. Festive Ale found in barrels can also provide random powerups to help during dungeon runs.
The event shop includes ale-themed emotes and returning cosmetic items, giving players another reason to visit the Tavern before the event ends.
2. Take Advantage of Season 10 End Rewards
The Season 10 End Event runs from September 30 through October 6. During this period, Non-Season Arena will be available at all times, with item rarity entry restrictions removed. Players also will not lose their items, including utility items, when dying in Arena Events.
Dungeons will become more dangerous, but the rewards will also improve. Non-boss monsters gain 30% attack power while losing 30% health, making fights faster but more dangerous.
Dungeon drop rates have been significantly increased, while High Roller dungeons receive doubled Artifact drop rates. Better hunting loot, higher-rarity equipment, accessories, and Quest items can also appear more frequently. Even Legendary Quest items will have a small chance to drop from PvE dungeons during the event.
3. Check New Dungeon Restrictions and Loot Goblin Rewards
Late-season dungeon entry rules have changed. Normal dungeons now require Rare or lower gear, while High Roller dungeons require gear rated 280 or higher.
Loot Goblins also provide better rewards. Higher-rarity Stolen Goods are more likely, Gold Containers guarantee at least a Gold Coin Pouch, and Treasure Hoards and Gems from Loot Goblins increase from two to five.
4. Upgrade to Unreal Engine 5.8
Hotfix #126 upgrades Dark and Darker to Unreal Engine 5.8. The update aims to improve frame rate stability, reduce stuttering, improve mouse responsiveness, and make loading and streaming faster.
Memory usage has also been reduced, while Steam Audio provides more precise directional and distance-based sound. Players can enable or disable Steam Audio in the Audio Settings.
5. Check the Latest Class Changes
Several classes receive balance adjustments. Fighter gains stronger Projectile Resistance, a longer Disarm duration, and a shorter Shield Slam cooldown. Rogue receives shorter Veil of Shadows cooldowns and longer movement time while stealthed.
Ranger's Purge Shot cooldown is reduced, while Wizard receives improvements to Lingering Magic and Arcane Surge. Barbarian gains stronger Finishing Blow execution effects, and Whirlwind can no longer be interrupted by weapon parries. Bard's Jolly Time also provides stronger Vigor and Movement Speed while drunk.
6. Prepare for EAS11
Season 10 ends on October 9 at 3:00 AM UTC, while the Arena Season ends on September 27. Players should use the remaining weeks to collect improved loot, earn Adventure Points, Dark And Darker Gold Coins, and push their Adventure Rank.
With stronger rewards, the Volksfest event, and the UE5.8 upgrade, Hotfix #126 gives Season 10 players several ways to prepare before the next season arrives.
