Summary
Season 15 of Diablo 4 brings massive shifts to class power rankings. The Warlock emerges as the undisputed best class—and it's not even close. Hellfire, summons, and class mechanics all receive damage increases, while Spiritborn takes a devastating 600% damage loss from a bug fix. This guide breaks down every class, what changed, and which builds to play—and if you'd rather skip the grind, you can buy Diablo IV Items to gear up faster.
Power Rankings at a Glance
Rank | Class | Status |
1 | Warlock | Ultra S-Tier, most build variety |
2 | Druid | Potential second strongest |
3 | Rogue | Unchanged, still powerful |
4 | Barbarian | Nerfed but still S-Tier finisher |
5 | Necromancer | Core stat scaler, new builds emerging |
6 | Paladin | Buffed, above Spiritborn |
7 | Sorcerer | Core stat scaler, limited builds |
8 | Spiritborn | Worst—600% damage loss |
1. Warlock: The Undisputed Champion
Warlock is the best class in Season 15 with the most build variety. The developers acknowledge it might be overtuned, but with Diablo 5 just announced, they're keeping it that way.
Key Buffs
Core stat scaler: 100% bonus damage for every skill
Dark Prison can now be cast while moving—huge quality-of-life improvement
Bombardment can be activated while moving, smoothing out gameplay
Many skills now usable while moving, reducing stuttery gameplay
Metamorphosis Changes
Nerf: Damage bonus changed from every 1,000 bonus life to every 1,200 life (slightly annoying but manageable)
Buff: Destruction Demon Form now gives 6.2% more damage with 25 ranks per Hellfire skill, base increased from 4% to 6%—meaning 8-9% per skill instead of 6%
Sin Demon Variant
Now gives more maximum Wrath and Dominance
5% more damage scaled per rank for each demon summon active
Leaving Metamorphosis reduces cooldown by 2 seconds when casting summon skills
Dynamism Legendary Node
Nerf: Damage per Dominance while in Demon Form reduced from 3% to 2.5%
At 90 Dominance, this means 225% instead of 270%—still strong
Black Soul Stone
Killing enemies absorbs a soul, giving 5% increased damage per soul
Key interaction: Killing your own demons counts toward this—and it wasn't fixed
Blizzard is putting a cap on it, but it remains OP
Recommended Builds
Hellfire Rampage
Hellfire Sentinel I-Beam
Abodian Apocalypse
Drag Clasps
Demon Summoner builds
2. Druid: Potential Second Strongest
Druid also cleared Pit 150 last season, though it was bugged. The set bonus fix still leaves Shred as the most powerful skill.
Key Changes
Core stat scaler: Same 100% damage increase as other classes
Shred remains the most powerful skill
Tornado build may become viable:
Fleshrender used to shoot tornadoes that got 50% damage boost on return
Now applies to both outgoing and returning tornadoes
Bonus upgraded to 135%
Even more powerful if you get it in Mythic
Earth Druid Fix
Song of the Old Mountain set is now fixed—this is huge
Last season, Earth Druids were bad because the set wasn't fully working
The set uses Earth skills to fossilize enemies, who take 100% bonus critical damage
Petrified enemies soak up damage and explode for 200% of it, leading to trillion-damage hits
Landslide, Earth Spike, Stone Burst, Pulverize, and Boulder builds are all returning
Synergies
Basilisk in Mythic with guaranteed craft: 100% increased critical strike chance against petrified enemies
Lran's Talisman: Reduces crit chance by 50%, but you won't care with 130% increased crit chance
Soul Splinter: 100% less crit chance but another 50% damage multiplier—you'll still sit at 50-80% crit chance
Druid may sit above Barbarian and Rogue, right below Warlock—possibly the second strongest class in Season 15.
3. Rogue: Unchanged and Still Strong
Rogue has been properly clearing Pit 150s without bugs. The build was Reign of Arrows, calling death from the skies.
Key Points
No core stat increase, but no nerfs either
Flurry is going up; nothing else is going down
Damage now happens to everyone instead of just from Cutthroat damage
Lesser-used aspects are seeing buffs
Azeroth Nerf
No longer explodes enemies; only damages the frozen target
Frozen target takes 150% increased damage
With Signate of Pelgane, target still takes stacking damage and dies
Not too limited by the nerf
Alternative Builds
Penetrating Shot Poison: Bounces around, clears Pit 140+
Dance of Knives Poison: Also powerful
Rogue and Barbarian are close in power. Since Rogue is unchanged, it might now be above Barbarian.
4. Barbarian: Nerfed but Still S-Tier
Barbarian received nerfs because it was overtuned, but it remains an S-Tier finisher.
Key Nerfs
Core stat scaling: At 3,000 Strength, used to give 330% all damage—now 240% (90% less damage from core stat alone)
Ancient Barb nerfs: Call of the Ancients and Madog variant nerfed
200 Sword Expertise: Bleed damage dropped from 30% to 15%
Legendary nodes: Many seeing damage decreases
One Good Change
Ramlatney's Magnum Opus: Used to drain Fury out of combat; now only in combat
Verdict
Even with nerfs, Barbarian will effortlessly reach Torment 12 and destroy bosses. You'd have to cut an arm and a leg off and it would still Whirlwind around and demolish things. Don't be scared to play Barb.
5. Necromancer: Core Stat Scaler and New Builds
Necromancer was finishing Pit 139, 133, and 130 with minion or Blood Wave builds. Season 15 brings more build variety.
Key Changes
Core stat scaler: Same 100% damage increase
Army of the Dead:
Can stack up to 5 times, summoning more volatile skeletons
Summons used to get 50% more damage—nerfed to 30%
But 30% now scales with skill ranks, potentially reaching 60-80%
Can be used as a real tool to power summons
Blood Surge: Slight buff
Explosion: 70% damage increase; Darkness version gets 140%
Bone Splinter Shrapnel: 70% increase—viable while leveling
Soul Rift Ultimate
Used to give unhindered and bonus movement speed (useless)
Now gives all Darkness skills 30% increased damage while active
Scales with skill ranks—can reach 40+ ranks
Darkness skills finally viable
Potential Builds
Bone Spirit Miasma
Desecrated Ground
Sever
Blight
Miasma Corpse Explosion
Exhumation Glyph
Now gets Lucky Hit chance to form a corpse when hitting an enemy
Waking Touch Set
Cooldown reset: 1 second per minion hit → 0.25 seconds (still enough)
5-set bonus: Army of the Dead damage 450% → 200%
But now says "gain summoning damage"—boosts Army of the Dead AND all minions
200% damage increase to minions turns the nerf into a buff for the whole build
Necromancer sits below Barbarian but above Spiritborn and Paladin.
6. Paladin: Buffed and Above Spiritborn
Some players reached Pit 145 with Paladin, though realistically around Pit 120.
Key Changes
Core stat increase: At 3,000 core stat, gives 487% bonus damage (up from 375%)—100% damage increase
Bless Shield: Already top-tier, becoming even stronger
Divine Lance: Buffed to do more damage
Zealous Oath: Receives damage buff
Bless Shield of Retribution: Now properly scales Thorns with skill ranks
Every Oath Buffed
Disciple, Juggernaut, Zealous Oath—all stronger
Verdict
Torment 12 will be way easier on Paladin than before. You still can't play willy-nilly—you need Zealous Oath or Bless Shield—but there's more skill expression. Power-wise, above Spiritborn.
7. Sorcerer: Core Stat Scaler but Limited Builds
Sorcerer has been in a weird spot—essentially one build.
Key Changes
Core stat scaler: 100% bonus damage for every skill
Deep Freeze: Upgraded to get Ice Spikes—full Ice Spike build may be viable
Ice Shards: Damage buff
Meteor: Might finally return as an actual build
Previously only cleared Pit 100 and existed in Torment 12
Now with core stat increase and Meteor buff, more build variety
Playstyle Note
The main Sorcerer build requires "super piano" playstyle—constantly spamming teleport in place while managing everything else. Not appealing to everyone, but the three-skill builds warm the heart.
8. Spiritborn: The Biggest Loser
Spiritborn lost 600% damage from a bug fix—a 7x multiplier less damage. It's not all doom and gloom, but it's the worst class.
What Happened
Last season, Spiritborn could do Pit 150 with a fun poison build
It only worked because of a bug with a Zig rune giving 600% bonus damage
Every leaderboard player was using Spirit Concussive Stomp
Now: 600% less damage
Compensating Buffs
Rocksplitter: Thorns damage now scales with ranks (8,000 Thorns, third attack deals 100% Thorns)
Crushing Hands: New addition, scales with skill ranks
Paragon node upgrades:
60% more damage on Bitter Medicine
40% more on Convergence
Drive goes from 6% to 10%—20 stacks of 4% more damage
120% → 200% damage multiplier for moving around
Verdict
The 600% less is more like 300% less after buffs. You're going to be okay, but you won't effortlessly finish Pit 150 anymore. Currently rated as the worst class, even below Paladin.
Summary: What to Play in Season 15
Class | Recommendation |
Warlock | Best class, most variety—start here |
Druid | Second strongest, Earth and Tornado builds |
Rogue | Unchanged, reliable Pit 150 clearer |
Barbarian | Nerfed but still destroys everything |
Necromancer | New builds emerging, solid mid-tier |
Paladin | Buffed, easier Torment 12 |
Sorcerer | Core stat scaler, limited but improved |
Spiritborn | Worst class—avoid unless you love it |
