For most FC 27 Ultimate Team squads, the free Season 2 route is worth progressing, with Rolfö at level 25 the strongest general-purpose target among the cards assessed here.
Keep the 500,000 Coins unless several Premium rewards would become starters. Rashford alone does not justify that outlay: his 86-rated item gains only one point each in face pace, shooting and dribbling over his Gold card.
Season 2 runs from October 22 to December 3, 2026. Aim for Rolfö first, then decide whether Saint-Maximin warrants another 5,000 SP.
Season 2 Dates and Progression
EA SPORTS FC 27 uses Season Points, or SP, for its shared seasonal progression. Premium adds another reward row to the same progress. You can upgrade later and unlock Premium rewards corresponding to levels already reached.
Item | Season 2 Details |
Start | October 22, 2026 |
End | December 3, 2026 |
Progression | Season Points, shared across both tracks |
Track length | 30 levels, reaching 30,000 SP in current tracking |
First task | Check your target reward and its SP requirement |
SP resets between seasons. Spend your remaining playtime on a reachable target before the deadline; points left short of the next level will not help in Season 3. Ultimate Scream content also needs its own reward checks: appearing during Season 2 does not automatically make an item a Season Pass reward.
Free vs Premium Rewards
Main Player Rewards by Track
FC 27 lists Werner, Rolfö and Saint-Maximin on Standard; De Gea, Fekir, Mendy and Rashford require Premium. Werner and Fekir occupy separate level-20 tracks, without a choice between them.
Level | Player | Track | Planning Priority |
15 | De Gea | Premium | Useful improvement, weak standalone reason to upgrade |
20 | Timo Werner | Standard | Earlier attacking target |
20 | Nabil Fekir | Premium | Central creator |
24 | Ferland Mendy | Premium | Consider with other starting upgrades |
25 | Fridolina Rolfö | Standard | Main free-route target |
30 | Allan Saint-Maximin | Standard | Optional final push |
30 | Marcus Rashford | Premium | Bonus for pass finishers |
These are the main player milestones, with Standard and Premium shown separately. Other reward tiles can include choices; follow their claim conditions rather than assuming every displayed option is guaranteed.
Free and Premium Priorities
The free route gives budget squads useful stopping points at levels 20, 25 and 30. Judge Premium on its extra rewards; free Rolfö and Saint-Maximin cannot justify the paid row's cost.
Heritage Players to Prioritize
Rolfö: The Main Free Target
Rolfö is worth aiming for at level 25 if your FC 27 squad needs a balanced midfielder. Her 85-rated item has 82 in every face category except dribbling, which reaches 85. More useful than the one-point OVR increase is the addition of CM, CDM and CAM eligibility to her Gold card's wide and left-back options.
Her 88 short passing, 84 defensive awareness and 82 standing tackle support a midfield role. Her Gold card already has 81 across five face categories and 82 dribbling, so expanded midfield eligibility supplies much of the value.
Target her to replace a weaker CM or CDM. If both midfielders are better, she offers depth; skip extra sessions solely for her.
De Gea: Useful, Expensive Alone
De Gea's Premium level-15 card improves diving from 81 to 85 and reflexes from 85 to 88. Handling and positioning rise by one. That is a clearer improvement in relevant goalkeeper attributes than the OVR change from 83 to 84 suggests.
Claim him if you already have Premium and need a goalkeeper. Keep Gold De Gea if he performs well: the upgrade alone is a poor reason to spend 500,000 FC 27 Coins. His exact reward-card PlayStyles remain unverified here; the higher diving and reflexes do not establish new goalkeeper animations or a tested save-rate increase.
Saint-Maximin: An Optional Final Push
Free level-30 Saint-Maximin gives you 90 pace, 88 dribbling, five-star skills and a four-star weak foot. His 93 agility and 94 balance make the card appealing for players whose attacks depend on beating a defender out wide.
The compromise is end product: 72 finishing and 73 stamina limit the case for making him your main scorer or expecting the same involvement all match. Use him wide or as a substitute, feeding a stronger finisher.
Continue from Rolfö to Saint-Maximin when that dribbling role would improve your team. If your wide creator is productive, skip the extra 5,000-SP target.
Rashford: A Weak Standalone Premium Case
Rashford's level-30 reward rises from 82 to 86 OVR, but the face-stat comparison is modest:
Attribute | Gold | Season 2 | Change |
Pace | 92 | 93 | +1 |
Shooting | 83 | 84 | +1 |
Passing | 78 | 80 | +2 |
Dribbling | 81 | 82 | +1 |
Physical | 68 | 71 | +3 |
He retains five-star skills and a three-star weak foot. There are useful individual changes, including balance rising from 69 to 74 and stamina from 70 to 78, but this remains a direct runner with limitations in tight situations and on his weaker foot.
Keep an existing winger who already creates and finishes reliably. Rashford is a reasonable reward for a fan squad or an account completing Premium for other benefits; he does not support spending half a million coins specifically to replace a good current attacker. A new PlayStyle+ or stronger Role familiarity could change his value, but neither upgrade is verified here. This judgment covers the checked attributes and skill ratings.
Other Rewards by Squad Need
Free Werner is the earlier option if you need a runner: his level-20 item has 92 pace, 80 shooting and four-star weak foot. Premium Fekir offers 84 passing and 87 dribbling for a central creative vacancy. Mendy supplies 89 pace and five-star weak foot, but 79 defending makes him a role-specific full-back upgrade rather than a reason to assume your defense is solved.
Premium Cost and Upgrade Strategy
Price and Existing Access
Community tracking lists the Premium Pass at 500,000 coins or 1,000 FC 27 Points. Confirm the Season 2 offer on the upgrade screen before spending; EA's general help guide explains supported currencies without publishing a fixed price.
Check existing access first. EA includes Seasons 1 through 5 Premium Passes with Ultimate Plus Edition, while the regular Ultimate Edition includes Season 1. Eligible Generic Tokens can unlock an available season; Season Tokens apply to their named season.
The 500,000-Coin Decision
For an ordinary squad still needing upgrades, my recommendation is to keep the coins and progress free. Direct squad upgrades help immediately. Treat packs as uncertain returns and check whether rewards can be traded.
Stay free if Rashford is your only target, De Gea would be the only new starter, or your schedule will leave the rewards you want out of reach. The same applies if spending 500,000 leaves you unable to address a more urgent position.
Consider Premium when Fekir and Mendy would both enter your XI, you can reach their levels, and the remaining coin balance still covers your next necessary upgrade. An Evolution can strengthen the case only after you confirm a player you own is eligible and worth developing.
Reassess at level 15, when De Gea becomes available, and again around levels 20 to 24 for Fekir and Mendy. You can then compare an immediately claimable bundle with the displayed price. Mid-season upgrades unlock earlier Premium levels retroactively, so waiting for demonstrated progress preserves your reward access. EA also says the Premium SP boost applies only to its current season. If this season offers a time-sensitive boost or an earning bonus that starts on activation, delaying can cost progression; check its terms rather than assuming earlier matches receive extra SP retroactively.
With included Premium access, claim useful rewards; evaluate the time required instead.
Efficient Season 2 SP Routes
Start with Objectives You Can Combine
In FC 27 Ultimate Team, open Objectives before entering your first match. Find an available SP task, read its mode and difficulty requirements, and check whether another SP objective accepts the same match. Use a squad that meets both sets of conditions.
Start in Squad Battles when the selected objectives allow it and you prefer a solo route. Use Rivals when its matches qualify and you also want competitive progress. Neither mode is automatically the fastest for every task.
After one completed match, inspect the counters. If they moved, continue until you finish the overlapping objectives. If a counter stayed unchanged, check starting-lineup conditions, required actions and minimum difficulty before playing again. Switch modes only when the next eligible task gives you a reason to.
EA's published match-play range is 15 to 100 SP per eligible match, capped at 850 daily. Objectives provide a separate progression opportunity. Once match SP stops increasing at the cap, continue only for another reward you want or an unfinished qualifying objective.
