Dear football fans, the summer of football is finally here! As the 2026 FIFA World Cup draws near, EA SPORTS FC 26 officially launched its highly anticipated "The World's Game" major update.

Due to licensing reasons, EA cannot use the official "FIFA World Cup" name and logo directly in the game. However, the new International Tournament Mode is an absolute hardcore gift for all football fans! Whether you want to lead your national team to virtual glory or build an all-star squad in Ultimate Team, this update delivers great value.

⚽ 53 National Teams Assemble! New International Tournament Mode Ignites This Summer

Starting June 4, the new 48-team International Tournament Mode will officially launch. This update adds 53 fully licensed national teams at once, with 41 teams competing this summer.

Alongside traditional powerhouses like Brazil, France, and England, you can even control emerging forces such as Cape Verde and Uzbekistan. The game also introduces Gillette Stadium, BMO Field, and a brand-new stadium "Central Maw" designed to deliver a top-tier international football atmosphere, immersing you in World Cup-level stadium vibes!

The format fully aligns with real World Cup rules: three group-stage matches, with the top two teams from each group plus the 8 best third-placed teams advancing to the knockout stage, fighting all the way for the championship. All 53 fully licensed national teams are included, with giants like Brazil, Argentina, France, Spain, and England fully featured—team crests, kits, and player faces are 1:1 realistically recreated.

Exclusive in-game World Cup broadcast camera angles, stadium lighting, crowd atmosphere, and custom chants are fully upgraded, making every match feel like a real live broadcast—immersion is maximized!

【New In-Game Content】

This update connects Career Mode and International Tournament system. You can start a new career to manage any licensed national team directly, or pick the quick-start option to jump straight into the tournament finals without long club seasons.

UT Ultimate Team opens a special World Cup Event Hub. Over a hundred active international players join card pools, and brand-new icons Riverino & Kempes are released in limited packs. A unique player upgrade system "Choose Your Journey" lets you develop exclusive national team cards. Cross-game World Cup themed mission chains reward event tokens by playing DR, SQB and online cups; tokens can be exchanged for exclusive jerseys, stadium ornaments and special player items in the event shop. A dedicated penalty challenge mode goes live on June 28 focusing on free-kick and penalty skills. Unfinished kits for minor nations will be patched in following small updates.

More than 200 international stars get refreshed face scans including Messi, Mbappé, Bellingham and Neymar; seven new World Cup signature boot styles are added with authentic textures. Dynamic outfit system triggers long sleeves on rainy days and short kits under hot weather, plus full pre-match walkout tracksuits for all national rosters.

Extra Content 2: Clubs Custom World Cup League

Pro Clubs mode supports custom 48-nation World Cup tournaments hosted by players. New national team badge and jersey templates allow full kit recreation, and seasonal club quests unlock exclusive stadium banners and fan decals.

Extra Content 3: Goalkeeper & Set Piece Mechanic Rework

Brand-new motion-captured save animations for keepers, plus independent camera shots for long free kicks and corner tactical customization with free player positioning.

Random rain, strong wind and high-temperature conditions appear in tournament matches. Slippery turf on rainy days, curved long passes in windy weather and faster stamina drain in heat; pitch wear accumulates gradually throughout knockout fixtures.
