Summary:

Helldivers 2 has revealed a new roadmap covering major updates through December. Update 7.1 in September looks relatively light, while Update 7.2 adds a Liberty Day event, new missions, a biome, enemy, Warbond, and reward. November has no major content scheduled, while December returns to the Automatons. Future Illuminate content, campaign rewards, improved feedback tools, Helldivers 2 Items, and possible customization features could also give players more reasons to return.

1. Major Update 7.0 Content

Major Update 7.0 introduced the Illuminate Void biome, tornado hazards, new enemies such as the Crusher and Wretch, a Legendary Warbond, a higher level cap, SEAF forces on missions, and the limited-time Into the Void missions.

Into the Void lasted only around 11 days, meaning some players never experienced the content. It remains unclear whether these missions will return permanently or through future Galactic War events.

2. September Update 7.1

September's Update 7.1 is currently the least detailed part of the roadmap. It does not identify a specific enemy faction or front, but it is expected to include a new Warbond and two new rewards.

These rewards may be connected to campaign rewards that can later enter the evergreen reward system. Players should therefore prepare resources for the new Warbond while waiting for further announcements.

3. October Update 7.2

October's Update 7.2 is much more substantial. It includes a Liberty Day event, new Warbond, missions, biome, enemy, Galactic War event, and reward.

The roadmap points toward the Terminid front. Although some players wanted more faction variety, a new enemy and biome could still make the update interesting if they introduce fresh mechanics and objectives.

4. November Content Gap

November currently has no major content scheduled. This has created plenty of discussion, especially because of the expected attention around GTA 6.

Rather than treating this as a problem, players can view November as a breathing period between major updates. Smaller patches, quality-of-life changes, and ongoing campaigns could still appear.

5. Campaign Rewards and Player Feedback

September may also bring campaign rewards for players who missed earlier Galactic War campaigns. The Supply FRV was previously mentioned as a reward expected around this period.

Arrowhead is also working on improved feedback forms. Using the in-game Message of the Day system could allow more players to answer detailed questions without relying on Reddit or Discord.

6. Stratagem Bounce and Community Claims

Players should be careful with community claims about mods that supposedly fix Stratagem bouncing. Testing has not clearly shown that these solutions permanently resolve the behavior.

Until Arrowhead officially changes the system, treat such mods as experimental rather than guaranteed fixes.

7. Calypso and Future Illuminate Content

Calypso's disappearance remains an interesting story mystery. Since Super Earth High Command controls what appears on the Galactic War map, Calypso may not have physically disappeared and could return for a future narrative event.

Meanwhile, unreleased Illuminate references point toward quantum technology, rifts, Stargates, research facilities, antimatter generators, and possible Strongholds. These could introduce more complex objectives than standard enemy elimination.

8. Other Possible Features

Five-player squads were reportedly tested but created balance problems because larger teams could cover more Stratagem roles. Low-gravity planets also created movement and technical challenges.

Both ideas could still return in redesigned special missions or modes if Arrowhead finds a better balance.

9. Armor and Helmet Customization

Armor customization could become another major future feature. Developers previously considered gameplay effects for helmets but avoided them because of balancing concerns.

Future systems may instead include armor recolors, shaders, and passive swapping. These options could give players more control over appearance while allowing greater freedom when creating builds, with Helldivers 2 Super Credits used reasonably.

For now, players should follow official announcements, prepare for upcoming Warbonds, and treat leaks and unreleased features as possibilities rather than confirmed content.
