By using the power of the Path of Preservation, Planarcadia has gained additional time. However, the threat of Oroboros remains. The planet is still at risk of being consumed, leaving the Trailblazer and the other supplicants with a final opportunity to change its fate.
Version 4.6 pushes the story toward a major confrontation involving gods, mortals, and the mysterious power of Elation. The supplicants must gather their remaining wishpower and find a way to stop Oroboros before it can devour Planarcadia and escape into the wider cosmos.
Kuchiba’s Mystery Takes Center Stage
One of the biggest story mysteries in Version 4.6 revolves around Kuchiba, a character introduced during the earlier 4.0 storyline. Her connection to Oroboros has become increasingly suspicious, and the new update promises to reveal more about her true intentions.
Kuchiba may be directly cooperating with Oroboros, while other clues suggest a possible connection to the Emanators of Voracity. Version 4.6 will investigate these unanswered questions as the Trailblazer and their allies uncover what is happening behind the scenes.
The storyline also introduces the Life Sciences Institute within Astropolis, a facility established under Madam Yabuli, the head of the IPC’s Technology Department. The institute is responsible for creating the imagenae of Astropolis, but Yabuli is reportedly pursuing a dangerous plan to “weaponize the husk.”
Pearl uses the recovery of Leviathan Essence as a cover to send Kuchiba and Ashveil to investigate the institute alongside the Trailblazer and Nihilux, setting the stage for another major story development.
Pearl Joins Honkai: Star Rail 4.6
The biggest playable addition in Version 4.6 is Pearl, a new 5-star Ice character following the Path of Elation.
Pearl is portrayed as Planarcadia’s CEO, known for her exceptional computational ability and highly rational decision-making. While other residents evacuated during the Voracity crisis, Pearl remained behind to oversee an important “encanvasing ritual.”
Her combat mechanics revolve around several unique resources and abilities. Pearl can consume Certified Banger to reduce damage taken by all allies, giving her team valuable defensive utility.
She can also enter a Deep Learning state that allows her to copy a teammate’s combat data and gain Enhanced ATK. If the copied teammate follows the Path of Elation, Pearl can deal additional Elation damage.
Players who build a full Elation team can unlock even more benefits. The copied teammate can receive an extra turn, while the team gains additional Punchline and Certified Banger effects. This makes Pearl particularly interesting for players already investing in Elation-based teams.
Pearl’s Light Cone and Character Reruns
Pearl will arrive alongside her signature 5-star Light Cone, Colors for Tomorrow. Players looking to maximize Pearl's potential will have the opportunity to obtain both during Version 4.6.
The first half of the update will also feature the return of Evanescia, along with her signature Light Cone. Evanescia is additionally receiving a new outfit, “Lunar Blossoming.”
The second half of Version 4.6 will bring back Mortenax Blade, commonly known as Bladie, alongside his Light Cone. Players who previously skipped him will have another opportunity to add him to their roster.
With only one completely new limited 5-star character arriving in Version 4.6, players may also have more flexibility when planning their Stellar Jade spending.
New Events and Gameplay Features
Version 4.6 isn't only about the main storyline and character banners. Several new activities are being introduced.
The “Love, Ghosts & Robots” event follows the Trailblazer as they help the resurrected Skott operate a mechatron workshop. Meanwhile, “Interastral Peace Gala: One Take” introduces another combat-focused activity presented as a reality show.
The update will also introduce the Astral Imagea system. Players can collect companion Imageas and participate in a new cooperative challenge called “Astral Slammers Squad!”
Two additional outfits are also arriving: Hyacine’s “Warm Cotton Skies” and Evanescia’s “Lunar Blossoming.”
Zenless Zone Zero Collaboration Teased
Perhaps one of the most exciting pieces of future content is the teased collaboration between Honkai: Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero.
According to the announced information, Version 4.8 is set to bring Ellen Joe and Astra Yao from Zenless Zone Zero into Honkai: Star Rail. Their arrival gives players another major crossover to anticipate while Version 4.6 focuses on the conclusion of the Planarcadia conflict.
The update also continues to expand the mystery surrounding Nihilux, whose identity has been revealed as Aha, the Aeon of Elation cheap Honkai: Star Rail Top Up. Her involvement with the Trailblazer and Pearl could prove crucial in the battle against Oroboros.
