Summary
In Control Resonant, progression works differently from a traditional action RPG. Dylan does not gain normal character XP from defeating enemies. Instead, the different zones of Manhattan earn Zone XP, and every time a zone levels up, you receive a Talent Point alongside zone-specific upgrades. Players can also buy Control Resonant Account to speed up early progression.
Focus on One Zone at a Time
The fastest way to build Zone XP is to concentrate your activities in a single area instead of constantly traveling between zones. Each zone has its own progression track, so XP earned in Central, for example, does not contribute to The Park.
Open the Map and choose the zone closest to its next level. Then complete as many activities there as possible before moving elsewhere.
Prioritize World Feats
World Feats are one of the most efficient sources of Zone XP. These optional activities appear on the map and can include encounters such as Apex Hunts, Hiss Hives, Hold the Line, and Suspended Extermination. Besides Zone XP, they can provide Source and upgrade materials, making them useful for several progression systems at once.
When farming Talent Points, prioritize nearby World Feats and complete several during the same trip.
Combine Quests, Enemies, and Exploration
Main missions and side quests also contribute Zone XP, so try to complete them inside the zone you are currently leveling. Enemy groups encountered along your route can add additional progress, while opening containers, discovering areas, and unlocking Fast Travel Doors also contribute Zone XP.
This makes a simple route much more efficient: quest → World Feat → enemy group → loot → Fast Travel point → next objective.
Use Resonant Cycles to Keep Farming
After defeating a Resonant, the world changes and previously completed activities can refresh. The increased difficulty also means refreshed activities can provide another opportunity to earn Zone XP and materials.
If you want to farm Talent Points efficiently, consider clearing the valuable activities in a zone before triggering the next major Resonant fight. After the cycle resets, return to the same area and repeat your preferred World Feats and activities.
Spend Talent Points at The Gap
Once a zone levels up, the Talent Point can be used in Dylan's Talent Tree at The Gap. Since every zone level contributes to this progression, consistently leveling multiple zones is the key to building a strong collection of Talents over time.
