During levels 1-10, keep useful quest materials and sell excess ores if you need potions or mesos.
2. Slimes and Mushrooms:Levels 7-15
Slimes, Orange Mushrooms, and Green Mushrooms become useful as you progress.
Slimes drop Squishy Liquid, Sapphire Ore, slime-related materials, and Fork on a Stick. Save around 10 Squishy Liquids and 50 Slime Bubbles for future quests.
Orange Mushrooms provide Bronze Ore, Diamond Ore, and Orange Mushroom Caps. Keep around 41 caps for quests, or more if you plan to craft the Hardwood Wand.
Green Mushrooms are particularly useful because they drop Green Mushroom Caps, ores, Fragment of Magic, and quest materials. Around 85 Green Mushroom Caps are worth keeping. They can also drop the valuable Pan Lid.
3. Pigs and Ribbon Pigs:Levels 10-18
Pigs are excellent early grinding targets, especially in Pig Beach and similar maps. Aim to farm monsters you can defeat in one to three hits.
Pig drops include Gold Ore, Topaz Ore, Leather, Stiff Feathers, Pig's Head, and Animal Fur Bundles. Save about 25 Leather, 35 Stiff Feathers, and 21 Pig's Head for quests and crafting.
Ribbon Pigs provide similar materials along with Pig's Ribbon. Around 20 Pig's Ribbons should be stored for quests.
4. Stumps:Levels 8-16
Stumps, Dark Stumps, and Axe Stumps are convenient farming targets because they move slowly. This makes them especially comfortable when you want to reduce HP potion usage.
Stumps drop Tree Branches, Bronze Ore, and Emerald Ore. Ten Tree Branches can be processed into one Processed Wood. Dark Stumps provide Leaves and useful ores, while Axe Stumps can drop Bronze Ore, Firewood, and quest materials.
Keep Tree Branches, Leaves, Firewood, and Plant Fossils when you have inventory space.
5. Octopus, Blue Mushroom and Bubbling Drops
Octopus is useful for both materials and equipment. Save roughly 100-200 Octopus Legs because they can be needed for quests and donations.
Blue Mushrooms provide Blue Mushroom Caps, Gold Ore, and equipment such as the Wizard Staff. Around 130 Blue Mushroom Caps can be useful for quests and crafting.
Bubblings are especially valuable for Spearmen because they can drop the Fish Spear. Save around 50 Bubbling's Huge Bubbles for quests.
6. Sturges and Sleepywood Monsters
Sturges drop Iron Ore, Garnet Ore, Fragment of Magic, Sturge Wings, Stiff Feathers, and Animal Fur Bundles. Around 50 Sturge Wings are worth keeping for quests, with additional materials useful for crafting.
In Sleepywood, Horny Mushrooms and Zombie Mushrooms become worthwhile targets. Save around 55 Horny Mushroom Caps and 30-50 Charms of the Undead. Zombie Mushrooms can also drop valuable attack scrolls, making them worth checking carefully.
7. Farm Smart and Save Important Drops
The best early-game strategy is to combine efficient leveling with smart inventory management. Farm monsters that you can defeat quickly, keep quest and crafting materials, Cheap MapleStory Classic World Mesos, and sell excess ores when you need mesos.
Most importantly, accept the 99- and 999-kill quests when farming Horny Mushrooms and Zombie Mushrooms. This lets you gain additional experience and rewards while training. By managing drops carefully, you can reduce future farming and build a stronger economic foundation for your MapleStory Classic World character.
