Citizenship is a new MapleStory Classic World progression system introduced during the closed beta. 1. How to Unlock Citizenship
Reach level 12 to unlock the Citizenship quests. For Henesys, talk to Arthur at the new portal in central Henesys. For Kerning City, talk to Roxy at the new location on the right side of town. You can complete both introductory quests before choosing your town.
You can only have one Citizenship at a time. The first switch is free, while later switches cost 50,000 mesos or more depending on your grade.
2. Citizenship Grades and Contribution
There are 10 grades, starting with Grade 1 Traveler and ending with Grade 10 Citizen of Honor. Each new grade requires five more character levels, with Grade 2 at level 17, Grade 3 at level 22, and Grade 10 at level 57.
Contribution is required to advance. The first upgrade needs 1,000 Contribution, and each following tier requires 1,000 more, with the final upgrade requiring 10,000.
Daily tasks are very simple: talk to a Citizenship NPC to receive Contribution, EXP, mesos, and potions. Grade 1 gives 100 daily Contribution, increasing by 50 per grade. Weeklies require collecting 100 monster ETC items. They start at 500 Contribution and increase by 250 per grade. At the current rate, reaching maximum Citizenship takes slightly less than three months with consistent participation.
Higher grades also unlock more shop items, discounts, taxi costs, and storage fee reductions.
3. Henesys Citizenship Rewards
Henesys is particularly useful for Warriors and Bowmen. At Grade 3, Raymond sells Bronze Arrows for 2 mesos each, providing +1 Attack. The Sharpness Potion also unlocks at Grade 3 and gives +3 Critical Chance for 15 minutes.
Grade 7 unlocks 100% Overall Armor scrolls for DEX and STR. At Grade 9, players can buy 100% Glove Attack and Glove Magic Attack scrolls for 50,000 mesos. Grade 10 also provides exclusive earrings, although their stats are limited and they are untradeable.
4. Kerning City Citizenship Rewards
Kerning City is mainly useful for Thieves and Mages. At Grade 3, Assassins can buy Wabies for 1,000 mesos, upgrading their throwing stars from Subis. The Destruction Potion also unlocks at Grade 3 and provides +3 Critical Damage for 15 minutes.
Grade 7 unlocks 100% Overall Armor scrolls for INT and LUK. Grade 9 provides the same 100% Glove Attack and Glove Magic Attack scrolls available in Henesys.
Both towns also offer a Grade 2 resident chair that restores 20 HP and 5 MP every 10 seconds for 10,000 mesos.
5. Which Citizenship Should You Choose?
Warriors and Bowmen generally benefit more from Henesys, while Thieves and Mages can make better use of Cheap MapleStory Classic World Mesos Kerning's STR/DEX versus INT/LUK-related scroll options. The two town-specific bossing potions can also be obtained through another character or a friend from the opposite town.
Overall, Citizenship rewards are useful but not essential for progression. Daily tasks take roughly a minute, while weekly tasks require more effort but only once per week. Players with limited time can still gain small long-term benefits without spending much time on the system.
