Class challenges alone can provide up to 27 points by reaching Levels 25, 45, and 60 across different classes.
Professions provide another 18 points, while PvP offers 12. Exploration, dungeons, and raids make up the remaining categories.
This means activities that might normally feel optional can now contribute toward your broader Legacy progression.
3. You Don't Need a Full Army of Alts
This is one of the most important details.
WoW Forever encourages players to experiment with multiple classes, but creating alts is not mandatory.
Legacy Points are account-wide for non-Hardcore characters, while each character can spend those points independently. At launch, each character can spend a maximum of 16 Legacy Points.
That creates an interesting system where your account can unlock progress together, while individual characters can specialize differently.
For example, one character could focus heavily on professions, while another invests in Adventure or Resourcefulness perks.

Hardcore will not be available at launch, but Blizzard has already confirmed special Legacy rules for it.
Legacy Challenges completed outside Hardcore will not carry into Hardcore. However, challenges earned in Hardcore will apply to other rulesets.
PvP challenges also cannot be completed in Hardcore, so Blizzard plans to introduce 12 Hardcore-specific Legacy Challenges when the mode arrives.
