Summary
Omens of Light are among the most valuable crafting items in Path of Exile 2. When activated, an Omen of Light ensures that your next Orb of Annulment removes only a Desecrated modifier from your item, protecting your valuable crafted stats. This deterministic crafting power makes them a staple for endgame crafters and a consistently high-value currency item, though some players may prefer to buy POE2 Currency instead of farming. This guide covers a refined Abyss farming strategy for players with limited playtime who still want substantial profit. Based on testing across 50 maps, the strategy yielded 38 Omens of Light and 110 Abyssal Echoes—clearing over 500 Divine Orbs in profit. It's adapted from the high-investment Grand Mirror method but requires less setup, making it more accessible for casual players.
Core Mechanic: Amanamu's Void
The entire farm revolves around Amanamu's Void Abyss monsters—specific rares that spawn with a dark void cloud around them. Where you kill them determines what drops:
Killing inside the cloud → Omen of Legions (low-value)
Killing outside the cloud → Omen of Light and Omen of Abyssal Echoes
You have two execution options: pull the rare out of the cloud and kill it outside, or instant-kill it on spawn before the cloud forms. Builds using Headhunter can break this farm because the Shade Walker modifier randomly teleports you into the smoke, causing accidental kills inside the cloud. Mageblood is a better alternative.
Tablets – The Most Important Component
The entire strategy is driven by tablet stacking. Three modifiers are essential:
Abyssal monsters have increased effectiveness per closed pit – scales rewards
Map has +2 random modifiers – adds juice (can't be on same tablet as first mod)
Increased number of rare monsters – more rares = more Omen chances
You need at least two Abyss Tablets—ideally three—to maximize rare density. With two tablets, you effectively add twelve additional random map modifiers on top of your waystone's modifiers.
Strong optional modifiers include increased chance to lead to Abyssal Depths, pack size, and monster rarity. Keep tablet cost under 26 Divine Orbs per set, targeting 24-30 Divine Orbs per 10-map block.
Map Rolling
For each map, start with a rare waystone with two available modifier slots. Add one Exalted Orb, leaving one slot open. Activate Omen of Chaotic Quantity and Omen of Chaotic Effectiveness, then use a Chaos Orb to roll the waystone. This yields both item rarity and monster rarity. Add your final Exalted Orb to complete the modifiers.
The cost is about 10 Divine Orbs to roll 10 maps—you'll make this back from raw drops. Five modifiers work; six does not. After rolling, corrupt the map for a chance at eight modifiers.
Map Types
S-Tier maps include City Maps (especially Sun Temple) for the fourth tablet slot, Cleanse Maps where monsters drop only currency, and Overrun Maps with 14-18 Abyssal pits. The best biomes are grass, mountain, and forest.
Avoid desert maps, which break the strategy, and small maps like Auggury that spawn fewer Abyssal pits. Open maps like Sun Temple and Savannah are ideal for kiting rares.
