This guide covers a high-end Spark Blood Mage Cast on Crit build. While this is a multi-mirror build, I'll cover what makes it work, alternatives at lower budgets, and how the core mechanics function in POE2.

Life Remnants & Mana Remnants – Sustain through picked-up remnants

Vigorous/Arcane Remnants – Passive nodes that recover max life and mana per remnant
Every time you kill or hit an enemy, you spawn remnants that instantly recover both resources. This creates essentially infinite regen during combat.
Defensive Layers
With Mind Over Matter and Eldritch Battery, damage hits your mana pool first. You'll have roughly 7,000+ mana overflow plus 500-1,500 life, giving you about an 8,000 effective HP pool—very comfortable for endgame mapping.
Gear Requirements
Wand (Mirror Service)
Best stats: +4 to all spell skills (legacy), +1 to all spells, cast speed, spell damage, gain x% damage as extra fire, gain x% damage as extra cold.
You need both as extra fire and cold to trigger all three remnant types (lightning procs naturally from Spark).
Shield (Wrath Pit)
Required mod only: Non-chaos skills deal increased damage per 100 max mana. Avoid the mod that increases life cost of skills—it will kill you.
Body Armor (Temporalis)
Not required but highly recommended. Reduces Blink cooldown to ~0.18 seconds, allowing 5+ blinks per second. Without it, you'll be significantly slower due to lack of movement speed nodes on the passive tree. The build is 100% playable without it—just slower.
Gloves
Key stats: +2 projectile skills, projectile speed, life cost efficiency, flat energy shield (converted to ward). You need at least one piece with ward to use certain skills—gloves are the best slot for this.

Amulet (Absent): Level 20 Arcane Surge, max mana, cast speed, spirit, +3 to all skill gems
Helmet: Highest ES possible with triple resistance (flat ES > % ES)

Belt: Headhunter for mapping (50-60 rare modifiers), Mageblood for bossing

Spark (Primary)
Supports: Efficiency 2, Pierce 3, Zenith, Volantas Propulsion
Tooltip shows ~1.2 million damage, but actual damage is much higher. Aim for 100-150 mana cost with the rest as life cost. Use jewels with "mana cost converted to life cost" to achieve balance.
Cast on Crit
Using Arc (not Comet) – Arc provides superior clear speed. Damage is already high enough that the single-target tradeoff is worth it.

Explosive Transmutation
This creates screen-clearing explosions when you pick up a remnant. Average damage: ~500,000 per use.

Corrupted rare jewels need: Spell/elemental damage (prefix), crit damage multiplier (suffix), crit hit chance (suffix). Optional: cast speed.
Against the Darkness – Place in top section. Grants 4% as extra cold AND 12 spirit per notable. Hits 7 notables = 84 spirit + 28% extra damage.
The Nothing Conduit – Allows pathing to multiple nodes without traveling through them.
Budget Alternatives
Without Temporalis: Build works exactly the same—you'll just be slower
Without The Adorn: Still playable—drop 1-2 jewel sockets and take regular crit nodes
Lower budget: Stormweaver Spark Cast on Crit is the budget alternative
Playstyle Tips
Blink through the map to the boss, cast Spark as you move, pick up remnants (they auto-collect), and watch everything explode.
Important Counters:
Don't run "reduced life recovery" maps – breaks the build
Avoid "reduced mana recovery" if possible
No increased life cost – will kill you

Pros: One of the fastest builds in the game; insane clear speed; 8k+ effective HP; infinite sustain from remnants; screen-wide explosions; strong boss damage.
Cons: Extremely expensive; requires specific knowledge; squishy if remnants stop spawning; can't do certain map mods; without Temporalis, feels slow.
