Summary
The market prices are well-documented—900 Divine Orbs for a two-socket Voices, one Mirror for a three-socket, and seven Mirrors for a four-socket. Many guides present this as an attainable goal, but before committing hundreds of runs and thousands of Divines, a thorough examination of the actual experience, drop rates, and psychological toll is warranted—especially since you could simply buy POE2 Currency and acquire the item directly. This guide is based on 397 completed Simulacrum runs across 9 days.
What Is Voices and Why Is It Farmed?
Voices is a unique cluster jewel that grants additional jewel sockets on the passive tree. The value varies dramatically based on the socket count:
2-socket Voices: ~900 Divine Orbs (unidentified versions sell for ~1,900 Divine)
3-socket Voices: ~1 Mirror
4-socket Voices: ~7-8 Mirrors
The jewel drops exclusively from the Simulacrum's final boss encounter. There is no known method to increase its drop chance directly—the outcome is determined purely by random chance.
The Drop Rate Reality
The community often cites Voices' drop rate as approximately 1 in every 100 to 150 Simulacrum runs. This statistic is misleading because each run is an independent event with identical probability. The game does not track cumulative attempts.
Documented cases illustrate the variance: one streamer ran over 727 consecutive Simulacrums without a single Voices drop, eventually obtaining four in his next 270 runs. Another viewer obtained a Voices on her quest completion run. The present author completed 397 runs across 9 days and never encountered a Voices jewel. Every Simulacrum represents a fresh dice roll with unchanged odds.
Setting Up the Simulacrum Farm
Accessing Simulacrums
Two methods exist for obtaining Simulacrum access:
Method 1: Self-Farmed (No Currency Cost)
Complete Delirium maps and achieve all Delirium tier rewards
Use Delirium Tablets on the Atlas to increase Grand Mirror spawn frequency
Complete the full reward track rather than rushing the boss
Method 2: Purchased Access
Simulacrums typically cost 2-3 Divine Orbs on the trade market
Higher upfront investment but eliminates farming time
Recommended for players whose primary goal is Voices farming
Achieving 100% Deliriousness
Using Breach Tablets with "2-3 additional rare monsters when stabilized" is effective. Applying two tablets typically produces one or two maps with sufficient Deliriousness.
Waystone Preparation
Waystone quality significantly impacts profitability. Target approximately 70% Monster Effect:
Begin with a 6-modded Waystone
Apply Chaos Orbs to activate Chaotic Quantity, Chaotic Monsters, and Chaotic Rarity
This configuration reliably produces approximately 70% monster effect
Desert biomes yield optimal returns
Tier 16 Evaluation:
The first 300 runs utilized Tier 16 Waystones. After switching to Tier 15 for the final 97 runs, no significant difference in rewards was observed. Tier 16 Waystones require more resources to craft and are not cost-effective for this strategy.
Selecting Simulacrum Reward Modifiers
During each wave, bonus reward modifiers are offered. The priority order based on observed effectiveness:
Apex Predator (Boss Option) – Highest priority. Additional bosses provide the most valuable drops.
Additional Map Modifiers – Second priority when available.
Additional Monsters – The difference is barely noticeable.
Count Geonor: The Primary Threat
Count Geonor, the Putrid Wolf, represents the only significant danger in Simulacrum runs. He possesses approximately double the life pool of other bosses, and his mechanics are disproportionately punishing.
Geonor's Dangerous Mechanics:
Ice breath creates chilled ground with 50% movement speed reduction; being caught by this effect is often lethal
Summoned wolves body-block and restrict movement
Teleport slam requires precise timing to avoid
Recommended Strategy: Geonor must be the priority target upon spawning. Failure to eliminate him quickly frequently results in death.
