Alpha 4.10.2 Begins Evocati Testing
Alpha 4.10.2 has entered the Evocati phase, with wider testing waves expected to follow. CIG's current testing focus includes stability improvements, bug fixes, long-term persistence between PTU releases, and a new event in the Stanton system.
The new event features contracts available through the mobiGlas, along with a dedicated mobiGlas tab, progress tracking interface, journal entry, and reward track. Several details remain redacted during the early testing phase.
The event appears to include transportation, collection, delivery, and defense activities. Some missions involve visiting platforms around Stanton's moons, moving objects between locations, and defending areas from threats. One mission reportedly involves transporting a Pico between different locations.
Because the event is still being tested, its full purpose and rewards have not yet been revealed. More information should become available as Alpha 4.10.2 reaches additional testing waves.
VR Improvements and Other Changes
Alpha 4.10.2 also introduces several VR-related improvements. VR can now activate automatically when enabled through the launcher, while a new VR zoom feature improves interactions involving the F key.
Precision targeting has also been adjusted for both ship gameplay and FPS aiming. A new zoom gameplay strength option allows players to reduce or disable the effect, while precision targeting temporarily stabilizes the camera to make aiming more comfortable.
Additional improvements affect tractor beam controls, hand mining, resistance values, abandoned ship cleanup, character customization, and general optimization. Several missions that previously provided disproportionate amounts of AlphaUEC are also being adjusted to address reward balance issues.
10 From the Community Debuts October 5
CIG is preparing a new video series called 10 From the Community, scheduled to debut on October 5. The short-form show will focus on questions submitted and voted on by players and backers.
Each episode will bring together developers from a specific area of development, potentially covering gameplay, art, UI, technology, ships, and other subjects. The first episode will focus broadly on gameplay systems and content, including how existing systems work, how they connect, and how they are expected to develop toward Star Citizen 1.0.
Upcoming Star Citizen Events
CIG has also published an FAQ covering changes to pledge gifting and game access. The new game library system takes effect on October 1, 2026, while players can select their preferred pledge during a transition period running until November 1.
On September 26, the Bar Citizen World Tour will visit Porto, Portugal, where CIG developers will meet players at the MXM Art Center.
