The Stranglethorn Fishing Derby receives one of the biggest changes.
The event still runs on Sundays from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. server time, with players catching 40 Speckled Tastyfish. However, WoW Forever expands the competition from one weekly winner to the first 50 players who complete the turn-in.
Rewards have also been redesigned. Winners receive the Arcanite Fishing Rod plus an Extravaganza Coin, which can be spent at the new Fishing Derby shop.

WoW Forever's new zones provide more places to fish, including Zephris Isle, Riverglades, Mountain Hyjal, Shenrolis, and Doran.
Most currently use fish appropriate to their level ranges rather than introducing completely new species. Riverglades, for example, provides higher-level fishing opportunities, while Mountain Hyjal includes fish such as Sunscale Salmon, Raw Redgill, and Lightning Eels.
