Summary:
The Stockade is an Alliance dungeon located inside Stormwind City for characters around levels 24-30. Its convenient location makes it an excellent leveling dungeon because Alliance players can quickly form groups and enter the instance. Horde players can also complete it, but reaching Stormwind can be difficult, especially on a PvP server. The WoW Forever Gold Beta loot has not yet been fully tested, so the items listed below are based on Classic loot and may change.
1. The Stockade Loot and Quests
Bruegal Ironknuckle is a rare spawn and does not appear in every run. He can drop some of the most valuable loot associated with the dungeon, including Jimmied Handcuffs, Iron Knuckles, and Prison Shank. Kam's Walking Stick is also listed as very rare Classic loot from Kam Deepfury.
Alliance players can complete several quests here. Quell The Uprising and The Stockades Riots are given by Warden Thelwater outside the dungeon entrance in Stormwind. What Comes Around... comes from Guard Berton in Lakeshire, while The Color of Blood starts with Nikova Raskol in Stormwind. Crime and Punishment comes from Councilman Millstipe in Darkshire.
The Stockades Riots requires level 16 and follows The Unsent Letter, which is obtained after killing Edwin VanCleef in The Deadmines. The Fury Runs Deep requires level 22 and starts with Motley Garmason in Dun Modr as part of The Dark Iron War chain. This quest is best completed with a party.
2. Stockade Bosses
Tragorr the Dread can spawn in any room along the first corridor. He has no complicated mechanics and is essentially a stronger dungeon mob.
Dextren Ward is always found in one of three rooms at the far end of the West Corridor. He also has no major mechanics.
Kam Deepfury is located two rooms into the East Corridor on the left side. He is another straightforward encounter.
Hamhock stands in the main room toward the far side of the East Corridor and always pulls with two prisoners. A Rogue can Sap or a Mage can Polymorph one prisoner. Otherwise, kill his allies quickly before focusing Hamhock. He can cast Chain Lightning, making him one of the more dangerous bosses.
Bazil Thredd is located in the furthest room of the East Corridor and pulls with two nearby prisoners. He can stun players and is the highest-level enemy in the dungeon. Clear the surrounding rooms and hallway before engaging him to prevent accidental extra pulls.
Bruegal Ironknuckle is the dungeon's rare spawn. He can appear in different rooms and has no special mechanics, but killing him is worthwhile because of his valuable loot.
3. Notable Encounters
Stockade prisoners can use Rend, Disarm, buy WoW Forever Gold, and Stun. They also have large aggro ranges and may flee when their health becomes low, potentially pulling additional prisoner packs into the fight. Several prisoners patrol the dungeon as well.
Move slowly and pull enemies away from nearby groups. Avoid fighting too many prisoners at once, especially while already dealing with a boss.
4. Tips and Treasure Chests
Do not remain AFK near the entrance for too long, as escaping prisoners can swarm the area. Before fighting bosses, clear nearby rooms and hallways. If a boss brings prisoners with him, eliminate those prisoners first and then focus the boss.
Finally, The Stockade always contains two Treasure Chests, so explore the dungeon carefully before leaving.
