1. Wolf’s Bane Is the Horde Paladin’s Big Level 20 Weapon
Verigan’s Fist has always been one of the most recognizable early-game Paladin weapons, mainly because players can obtain it at a relatively low level while getting a weapon that remains useful for a long time.
WoW Forever introduces a Horde-side counterpart called Wolf’s Bane.
The final weapon has:
105 top-end damage
3.4-second weapon speed
9 Stamina
10 Strength
A special Holy Storm effect
Deals significantly more damage against Wolves and Worgen
The weapon provides a substantial upgrade over typical level 20 equipment, making the quest worth pursuing for Horde Paladins.
2. Start the Wolf’s Bane Quest in Silverpine Forest
The questline begins after rescuing Lumina Windsinger from Fenris Isle and bringing her back to the Silverpine Forest quest hub.
Her story introduces the main target: Old Fire Eye, a powerful Worgen connected to the attack that ultimately led to Bannon's death.
Because Old Fire Eye is unusually difficult to kill, the quest requires players to create a special weapon capable of defeating him.
Trevan provides the instructions and sends players on a multi-zone material hunt.
3. Three Materials Are Required
Before the final weapon can be forged, Paladins need three important materials:
Enchanted Silver Ingot:
This comes from Shadowfang Keep.
The dungeon is particularly challenging around level 20, so bringing a full group is recommended. The quest also provides another reason to revisit the dungeon beyond its normal loot.
White Stone Oak Lumber:
The second material comes from Deadmines in Westfall.
Players need to search Moonbrook and obtain the special White Stone Oak Lumber connected to the area's goblin activity.
Purified Core Gem:
The final material requires a trip to Blackfathom Deeps.
Players first need to speak with Olric Frostvale in Ashenvale to obtain the appropriate quest before entering BFD. This is important because obtaining the Core Gem without the quest can waste the entire dungeon run.
Once all three materials are collected, return to Trevan.
4. Take the Materials to Tarren Mill
Trevan reveals that the weapon should be forged by a relatively unknown Orc weaponsmith named Orrt in Tarren Mill.
Despite lacking a famous reputation, Orrt is known for producing exceptionally well-made functional weapons.
Give him the three required materials and he will forge the Moon-Silver Blade, which is then returned to Trevan for inspection.
The final step is to use the newly forged weapon against Old Fire Eye.
5. Defeat Old Fire Eye to Finish the Weapon
Old Fire Eye can be found in Silverpine Forest near the gates of Gilneas.
The special Moon-Silver Blade weakens the creature and exposes it to Holy attacks. During the encounter, the boss can receive a debuff that significantly increases damage taken from Holy attacks and spells.
That makes Paladin abilities such as Judgment particularly effective during the fight.
After Old Fire Eye is defeated, Lumina Windsinger performs the final magical enhancement, transforming the weapon into Wolf’s Bane.
6. Why Wolf’s Bane Matters in WoW Forever
Wolf’s Bane is more than another early-game blue weapon. It demonstrates how WoW Forever is expanding familiar Classic quest design with new storylines, bosses, crafting steps and rewards.
The quest also encourages players to revisit several iconic dungeons instead of simply leveling through them once.
For Horde Paladins reaching level 20, the reward is especially attractive. The 105 top-end damage and unique Holy Storm effect make Wolf’s Bane a powerful weapon for this stage of the beta.
