Summary

This week is packed with activities in WoW Midnight, making it a great time to upgrade your characters and collect limited-time rewards. From easy gear upgrades and weekly quests to rare mounts, achievements, and free cosmetics, there is plenty to do. If you want to spend your time efficiently while making the most of your WoW Midnight Gold, here are the activities you should prioritize this week.

1. Start With Venomous Abyss Story Mode

One of the biggest highlights this week is the arrival of Venomous Abyss Story Mode, alongside the first LFR wing.

This is especially useful if you are still missing pieces of your Tier set, as LFR gives you another opportunity to obtain raid gear.

Story Mode is even more important because completing the related quest rewards a Champion-quality ring. If you have not completed the quest on Normal, Heroic, or Mythic difficulty, Story Mode provides a much easier way to finish it.

For effort versus reward, this is one of the safest activities to complete this week.

2. Use the Tamu King Event to Gear Your Alts

The Tamu King event is another excellent opportunity for gearing up characters.

During the event, its bosses can drop Champion-level gear, while the encounters themselves are generally easy to complete.

This makes the event particularly useful for alts that are still catching up. If you are preparing another character for raids, PvP, or Mythic+, this is an easy way to improve its gear without spending too much time.

3. Complete Both Weekly Quests for Hero Gear

There are two weekly quests that should be high on your checklist.

Frozen Journey Through Time:

You can pick up this quest in Silvermoon or from your quest log.

You need to defeat five bosses in Ulduar or complete five Timewalking dungeons. The reward is a cache containing a chance at Hero-level gear from the new raid.

It is a straightforward weekly reward and well worth completing.

Disturbance Detected: Ulduar

This quest is available in Dalaran and has a much simpler objective: defeat Yogg-Saron in Timewalking difficulty.

The reward is a Cache of Timeworn Treasures, which guarantees a piece of Hero-level gear.

Even better, the gear can be used with the Catalyst to create a current Tier set piece. If you are looking for one of the fastest ways to get a meaningful upgrade, this quest should be a priority.

With a Yogg-Saron skip group, the entire process can reportedly take around 5–10 minutes.

4. Don't Miss the Northrend Sky Racing Cup

Players who enjoy mounts, transmog, toys, and Dragonriding content should also check out the Northrend Sky Racing Cup.

The event is available until September 7, so there is still plenty of time to complete it.

However, these racing cups do not appear frequently, meaning some rewards can take months to return. The event offers several collectibles, including:

  • Transmog sets

  • Back cosmetics

  • Toys

  • Dragonriding-related rewards

  • Achievement rewards

If you need more information, visit Valdrakken and speak with Anduin Wrynn near the Rostrum.

5. Grab the Limited Achievements and Mounts

Several rewards this week have strict deadlines, so these should not be left until the last minute.

Fable: Let Me Solo Him Asteroc

The Fable: Let Me Solo Him Asteroc achievement and its title are only available for another two days.

Once the weekly reset arrives, the title will disappear permanently. If your character is geared enough and you understand your class, this is worth attempting before the deadline.

Completing the challenge also provides a mount that remains obtainable later in the season, along with a wing-themed transmog reward.

Molly Mount:

The Molly mount comes from the Dune Gorger Krolok world boss in Vol'dun.

This boss follows a rotation and only becomes available about every six weeks. Each character gets one chance per week, so players with multiple alts can use them to increase their chances.

If Molly is still missing from your collection, this is the week to make the attempt.

Twitch Drop:

There is also a free Twitch Drop available until September 8.

Link your Battle.net account with Twitch and watch four hours of World of Warcraft streams to unlock the Sorcerer's Grasping Garb ensemble.

Since it costs nothing beyond watching eligible streams, there is little reason to skip it.

6. Your Weekly Priority List

If you have limited playtime, focus on these activities in this order:

  1. Yogg-Saron weekly quest – Get reliable Hero gear.

  2. Venomous Abyss Story Mode – Secure the Champion-quality ring.

  3. Tamu King event – Quickly gear up your alts.

  4. Limited achievement and Molly – Avoid missing rewards with long or permanent lockouts.

  5. Northrend Sky Racing Cup – Collect transmog, toys, and other cosmetics.

  6. Twitch Drop – Pick up the free appearance while it is available.

Final Thoughts

The main theme of this week's WoW Midnight activities is simple: high rewards, limited availability, and don't wait too long.

Prioritize the guaranteed Hero gear and Champion upgrades first, then handle the limited-time achievements, mounts, and cosmetic rewards. With a little planning, you can make significant progress across your main character and alts without spending your entire week in-game, especially if you choose to buy WoW Midnight Gold to support your progression.
