Aion 2 Arcana Guide: Frenzy, Purity, and Libra Combinations
The Arcana system in Aion 2 has expanded with the release of Frenzy, Purity, and Libra. This guide explains the new set effects, acquisition methods, optimal combination strategies for different playstyles, and skill leveling priorities.

New Arcana Sets Overview
Frenzy and Purity
Frenzy and Purity are functionally identical. Both provide the same Guardian stat bonuses. Frenzy grants Vitality and Guardian, while Purity grants Magic Power and Guardian. These two sets are stat variants of the same core design.
Libra
Libra represents a significant change from previous Arcana components. The original Libra had 20 attachment slots, while this version has only 10. The attachment mechanism has been adjusted accordingly.
Acquisition Methods
Frenzy and Purity cannot be obtained as drops. They are only available through Synthesis. When clearing the new Transcendence dungeon, existing Arcana cards may appear, but new cards do not drop directly. Instead, Crystals collected from dungeon clears are used to Synthesize in the Arcana menu.
Materials Required
The existing Arcana components—Stone Scroll, Parchment, Compass, Bell, and Mirror—are crafted using Mysterious Crystals. The newly released Scales require Harmonious Crystals, obtained exclusively from the new Transcendence dungeon. For guaranteed crafting of two Aion 2 items, fifteen of the respective material are required.
Chalice Crafting Priority
When crafting a Chalice, Frenzy or Purity must be used. A standard Chalice costs 600,000 Aion 2 Kinah to craft. A Vitality Chalice costs 5,000,000 Kinah. Therefore, Frenzy or Purity is the economical choice for Chalice crafting.
Scales can also be crafted, but the outcome is not selectable. Scales offer powerful options including both passive and active skills. Unlike Chalices where two outcomes can be designated, Scales require luck to obtain the Movement skill specifically.
Default Foundation: Time and Life
Before examining combinations, the foundation must be established. For the Chalice, Vitality or Frenzy is mandatory. Space is not a viable option.
Movement Speed versus Combat Speed analysis indicates Time is the best choice, particularly because it includes Slam Resistance.
For the Parchment, the choice is between Life Regeneration versus Spirit and Iron Wall. Iron Wall is only half as efficient, reducing damage by half rather than eliminating it entirely. Life is twice as efficient. Regeneration has limited value but is not entirely useless. Spirit is an option that is otherwise unavailable.
Default Recommendation: Use Time and Life as the standard foundation.
Combination One: Pure Shot Build
This combination uses Death for the Compass. The trade-off is lower accuracy in exchange for higher Critical Hit. The accuracy loss is compensated through Spirit Awakening.
Downside: If the character's class lacks Spirit, Magic stat is reduced, creating resource management issues. Spirit potions may be required, or trait adjustments may be necessary.
Best for: Most PvE players. This is the standard recommendation for general content.
Combination Two: Magic Frenzy Build
This build is more defensively oriented. When comparing Frenzy and Pure, Pure is superior for offensive purposes.
Frenzy provides Boss Damage Increase, Damage Amplification, and Transformation bonuses. However, Damage Amplification is currently over-statted in the game, making it less efficient based on PvE value. Critical Damage Increase is similarly inefficient, except for classes that lack a Critical Damage Increase passive. For those classes, Critical Damage Increase is beneficial.
Four-Piece Set Bonus: The Frenzy four-piece set provides 1000 Defense and 10% Boss PvE Damage reduction. This makes the Frenzy four-piece significantly better than alternatives. The set options are strong, mana is not lacking, and mana potions can even be farmed.
Libra Adjustment: For the Frenzy four-piece build, Destruction Fate is used for Libra. This increases Attack Power. Fate has limitations, but the Attack Power increase is valuable if the attack cap has not been reached.
Alternative Libra Setup: If pursuing a Master Rage build, Libra must be switched to Justice and Life. However, this setup does not increase Defense, Life, or Perfection (Atul). The stats provided by Libra in this configuration are less effective and more defensive, though potentially better for PvP.
Recommendation: Based on PvE standards where Atul is prioritized, the Pure Shot build is generally recommended. PvP players should consider this defensive alternative.
Combination Three: Frenzy Four-Piece with Two Pure
This combination takes the Frenzy four-piece set and adds two Pure pieces moved to the Final Set. The Frenzy four-piece is currently very strong, but using it requires Justice and Life for Libra, which is suboptimal. By taking two Pure pieces and moving them to the Final Set, Attack Power is gained from Libra while retaining the Frenzy set bonus.
Downside: Mirror must be moved to Illusion, which reduces Crushing Blow stat. If the character has a six-piece Slam setup, this is workable, but for PvE, Slam is superior. Atul decreases with this configuration.
Critical Limitation: This combination cannot be replaced. Vitality cannot be used. Magic cannot be used. This path is mandatory for this specific setup. All previously crafted Arcanas must be scrapped. The farming difficulty is extremely high.
Skill Leveling Strategy: Passive Skills Over Minor Active Skills
A critical consideration for Arcana crafting involves how skill levels are allocated.
Recommended Approach: Once three or four essential skills have reached level twenty, invest in Tier One passive skills specific to the character's class instead.
Reasoning: Leveling a main skill from nineteen to twenty increases stats by only 0.5% or 5% depending on the skill. In contrast, leveling skills such as Flame Robe or Concentration increases Damage Amplification by one percent and Critical Hit by 0.2% per level. Even accounting for combined damage increases from Fusion, the character's own damage increase plus Crushing Blow increase is superior.
Since Heaven's Relic and Holy Grail allow skills to reach level twenty regardless, significantly boosting passive skills provides better returns.
Class Dependency: This strategy depends entirely on the character's class. Careful calculation is required before committing. When crafting, particularly when crafting the Holy Grail, including passive skills may be the better choice.
Final Recommendations
For most PvE players, the Pure Shot build is the safest and most effective choice. PvP players should consider the Magic Frenzy build for its defensive advantages. The hybrid Frenzy four-piece with two Pure offers the highest potential but requires complete rebuilding and extensive farming.
Regardless of combination, prioritize passive skill leveling over minor active skills once core skills have reached level twenty. The returns on passive investment substantially exceed those of advancing minor active skills to the cap.
When crafting Chalices, always use Frenzy or Purity. Crafting a standard Chalice when superior options are available at comparable cost is not recommended.
