Aion 2: Purification Station of Erosion - Complete 3rd Boss Guide
The third boss of the Purification Station of Erosion presents a manageable challenge for coordinated parties. While initial attempts may result in failure with approximately 10 percent health remaining at 200,000 combat power, mastery of the boss's patterns enables consistent progression, get generous Aion 2 Kinah and Aion 2 Items rewards. This instructional article provides a comprehensive breakdown of boss mechanics, positioning requirements, and pattern responses based on successful party execution.

Section 1: Approaching the Boss
Pathfinding After the Named Boss
After defeating the preceding named boss, return toward the entrance. A Dragon Sound will be visible in the forward area. Mount this Dragon Sound and proceed straight forward. A path will materialize; follow this path to the left, not the right.
Upon reaching the forward section, wing deployment becomes possible. Deploy wings and fly straight forward. If descent occurs, a dragon positioned below allows remounting and ascent. From this location, move forward until reaching a gap where the path terminates. Turn left, deploy wings, and the boss entrance becomes accessible.
Hazard Warning
During wing deployment movement, poisonous liquid falls from above. Contact with this liquid results in immediate death. Navigate around the falling poison while moving left toward the boss entrance.
Resurrection Point Placement
Force Kisk should be cast before engaging the boss. The recommended casting location is directly at the boss entrance.
Section 2: Core Mechanics and Positioning Fundamentals
Marker Assignment
The most critical preparation is designating one party member, either a sub-boss or order leader, to place markers. These markers determine the order for laying down "poop boards" and the sequential destruction of "dumplings" during specific phases. The star markers should be used as reference points for all positional decisions.
The Three-Combo Sequence
A recurring three-part combo appears throughout the encounter:
Jump over the rope once
Lay down the poop board
Take hits together as a group
This sequence repeats frequently and requires coordinated execution.
Random Pattern Sequences
Two primary random sequences may appear, sometimes with one or two other patterns inserted between them:
Rolling to draw aggro, followed by fire gun usage
Rolling to draw aggro, followed by black hole casting
The order of these sequences varies, but they consistently appear together.
Section 3: Initial Engagement Pattern
Entry and Positioning
Upon entering, three circular area-of-effect attacks appear. One party member should position behind the boss to tank. Based on this tanking position, three attacks occur in sequence:
One ground attack
Two circular attacks
One circular attack requiring entry
Three-Combo Initiation
Immediately following these attacks, the three-stage combo begins.
Stage One: Launch and Gather
The boss moves upward. Launch it once using a jump rope. A poop-laying attack follows. All party members must gather at a single spot based on the star marker. From this gathered position, run in one direction or use Shift to move. Movement speed is slightly slow but manageable.
Critical Warning: Pre-existing poop may already be present on the ground. When a new poop area appears, directional adjustment is necessary, but the existing poop area explodes before adjustment is possible. If carrying the marker, position away from existing poop areas to facilitate easier avoidance.
Stage Two: Blocking Together
After gathering, stick close to the boss. To block together, take the hit as a group in three positions relative to the boss's front: left, then right, then center. This distributes damage appropriately.
During this phase, one party member gets dragged away. When the boss slams the ground once, all members become temporarily invincible. The dragged member takes no damage while the remaining members absorb the hits. At sequence conclusion, the dragged member is abandoned.
Stage Three: Sequence Recap
The complete sequence is: jump rope, cast poop tiles, take hits together.
Roll and Ranged Attack Sequence
The boss performs two consecutive rolls. The targeting criterion for these rolls is the party member furthest away. After rolling twice, the next attack is either the fire gun or the black hole.
Whenever this pattern appears, the boss always rolls backward exactly once before executing one of these two attacks. If the fire gun is used, it splits. If the black hole is used, it fires twice.
Black Hole Targeting Order:
First shot: targets the person at the furthest distance
Second shot: targets the person drawing aggro at the front
Avoidance Tip: When the boss prepares to roll backward once, the furthest party member should move to either side rather than remaining in the center. This positioning facilitates pattern avoidance.
Section 4: Dumpling Destruction Phase
Activation Condition
Around 25 percent health remaining, the boss rises upward. This occurs after pattern completion and requires directional definition.
Position Assignment
Based on the circle marker:
Positions 1 through 8 are assigned to each party member
Position 1 is directly in front of the circle
Positions 2, 3, and 4 can be assigned clockwise or counterclockwise based on party preference
Position 8 is at the far left end
In the example configuration, positions 1 through 4 were assigned clockwise to the right, with position 8 at the far left.
Execution
The boss rolls sequentially: 1, then 2, 3, 4, and 5. Party members must eliminate dumplings according to this order.
Dodging Method: Use Just Field to dodge without taking damage. Activate Just Field in the direction the boss is approaching from. This provides reliable avoidance.
Important Note: The boss rolls a total of nine times. After rolling eight times, it rolls one additional time toward position 8. Avoiding this final roll requires awareness and timely dodging.
Timing Consideration
If party damage output is sufficiently high to reduce the boss's health by 25 percent quickly, the dumpling phase may proceed without seeing intermediate patterns. However, parties with balanced damage will encounter all described patterns.
Section 5: Belly Blast Pattern
Description
The Belly Blast pattern manifests as the boss twitching as if experiencing stomach distress, hitting its belly several times, then spinning while shooting lasers at extremely high speed. This pattern causes the most frequent deaths.
Targeting and Direction
The Belly Blast appears to target the furthest party member. Left and right movement directions are completely random. Despite multiple observations, no correlation was found between the targeted person's position and the direction of movement. Direction is random.
Appearance Timing
The Belly Blast appears unpredictably, at any moment during the encounter.
Avoidance Strategy
When the "Bulging Belly" visual cue appears, stick close to the boss immediately. Since the direction of attack is unknown, pass in the opposite direction of the boss as much as possible to maximize survival chances.
Section 6: Blackout Pattern
Sequence Order
Following the rolling fire gun and black hole attacks, the Belly Blast may appear, potentially accompanied by a Mando emerging from inside or other elements. After these patterns conclude, the blackout pattern occurs.
Recognition
The boss's hand glows blue while planting a bomb.
Avoidance Requirement
Do not look directly at the bomb. This pattern functions identically to the Rudra named boss encounter. Look behind the boss, not straight ahead. Properly looking at the back prevents being hit.
If avoidance is ambiguous, blackout occurs immediately. During blackout, forward visibility is severely impaired, leading to frequent misses and subsequent failures.
Section 7: Orb Pattern
Initiation
Immediately after successfully avoiding the blackout, the orb pattern begins.
Execution
Move orbs from right to left as in a shooting game. This pattern is exceptionally easy to dodge. Even if hit by the blackout, look forward slightly, observe the approaching orbs, and dodge accordingly. Move straight from right to left without stopping.
Consequence of Failure
Death during this pattern must be avoided, as the subsequent boss roll backward triggers either the Fireball Stone Golem or Black Hole pattern.
Section 8: Blade Dumpling Pattern
Activation
Following the orb pattern, after the boss rolls backward again, either the Fireball Stone Golem or Black Hole appears. Using the black hole example:
First black hole fires at the furthest party member
Second black hole fires at the closest tank
After one of these two attacks, the Blade Dumpling pattern follows in succession.
Blade Appearance
Exactly four red blades appear at the bottom. These four blades must not collide with each other. Dumplings appear around the blades. Rubbing against these dumplings causes them to disappear.
Dumpling Randomness
Dumpling appearance is random. Two, three, or up to four dumplings may appear for the four blades.
Section 9: Dumpling Bomb Throwing Pattern
Activation Condition
When boss health reaches 50 percent, the dumpling bomb throwing pattern activates.
Sequence
The boss moves upward. Party members move to the distant circular area. One pull occurs, causing minimal damage.
Bombs appear on the ground. Press the F button to pick up a bomb. Move forward while dodging flying flames. Press the F button again to throw the bomb at the boss, inflicting damage.
Continue this process until all dumplings are thrown. Purple floor mats appear underneath throughout this phase but cause minimal damage.
Final Position
At pattern conclusion, the boss falls into the center. Party members positioned in front at this moment will be hit and killed. Immediately after falling, the boss rolls backward once, followed by either a black hole or shooting attack.
Section 10: Late-Stage Pattern Variations
Roll Sequences
The boss rolls twice in random order, then immediately rolls twice more. The rolling and subsequent fire gun or black hole attacks always follow in random order. The Belly Blast may appear again, potentially with other random patterns inserted between.
Three Circular AoE Variation
Earlier in the encounter, the jump rope pattern always follows the three circular AoE attacks. In the latter portion after 25 percent health, a variation may occur:
Three normal attacks after the three AoE patterns appear
One normal attack hit
Rapid barrage
Pull attack
The pull attack inflicts significant damage. Healers can die instantly if hit by both the throw and pull components. Be aware that the normal attack pull may be used again after 25 percent, unlike the beginning of the encounter where the jump rope pattern always follows the three AoE attacks.
Section 11: Ten Dumplings Pattern
Activation
When boss health reaches the final 25 percent, the boss rises once more, and the Ten Dumplings pattern initiates.
Configuration Difference
Unlike the earlier eight-dumpling configuration, this upgraded version features a different arrangement. Position 1 at the front of the circle contains no dumpling.
The configuration is:
Five positions on top: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
Five positions on the right, arranged symmetrically: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
Total dumplings: ten.
Roll Count
Despite ten dumplings, the boss rolls only eight times.
Position Assignment
With eight party members, two members must destroy two dumplings each. The boss rolls in sequence based on numbered positions. When the boss charges, two dumplings are destroyed, continuing through the sequence.
The boss's roll distance is substantial. Movement from one position to another covers significant ground. The exact path may vary, but the general principle of sequential destruction based on assigned positions applies.
Section 12: 25 Percent Stun Consideration
An important observation: the intended pattern at 25 percent may be skipped if a stun occurs simultaneously. While the stun is active and party members drain health, the separate pattern may not trigger.
In the documented example, floor tiles were laid down, and the encounter transitioned directly to the Ten Dumplings pattern without the intermediate pattern appearing. If a stun occurs around 25 percent, the expected pattern may not activate.
Summary: Success Checklist
Assign one marker placer for all positional decisions
Master the three-combo sequence: jump rope, poop board, take hits together
Position based on star markers for all dumpling destruction phases
During roll sequences, the furthest party member should move to the side
For Belly Blast, stick close to the boss upon visual cue
For blackout, look behind the boss, never directly at the bomb
During orb pattern, move straight from right to left
For blade dumplings, prevent blade collision and rub dumplings to remove them
At 50 percent, pick up and throw bombs at the boss
For Ten Dumplings pattern, understand the symmetrical configuration and assign positions accordingly
With practice and coordinated execution, the third boss of the Purification Station of Erosion becomes a consistently clearable encounter. Good luck with your weekend attempts.
