1. Phantom Targets Part 1 Overview
Phantom Targets is a multi-phase player project designed to test raiders'adaptability with unconventional loadouts and field tasks. Only Part 1 is currently live, featuring three sequential challenges focused on environmental upgrades and specialized Arc combat testing.
The objectives range from simple map interactions to precise weapon and equipment damage requirements. Many players struggle with rare Arc part spawns and specific damage-type quotas, making optimized routes essential for fast completion. Finishing all steps unlocks valuable free gear and raider tokens with no premium purchase required.
2. Step 1: Cargo Elevator Antenna Upgrade Guide & Rewards
The first challenge tasks players with upgrading three antennas located on top of Cargo Elevators across playable maps. Dam Battlegrounds is the easiest and most efficient zone for this task, thanks to clustered elevator spawns. Riven Tides and Spaceport also feature valid antennas but require more traveling.
Simply approach each rooftop antenna and hold the upgrade prompt until the progress bar fills. You can complete all three upgrades in a single run to save time. After finishing all three upgrades, return to the Speranza hub to turn in the challenge.
Step 1 rewards include a Combat Mk.3 (Aggressive) augment, a heavy shield, and vita spray, offering immediate defensive and offensive quality-of-life upgrades for early builds.
3. Step 2: Arc Part Damage Test Walkthrough
The second challenge demands specific damage totals using three unique Arc parts: 50 damage from Pop Triggers, 500 damage from Wasp Drivers, and 1,000 damage from Leaper Pulse Units.
Pop Triggers drop from exploding white Orb Pops, commonly found in Stella Montis and Buried City indoor zones. Wasp Drivers come from flying Wasp drones, easily located by tracking Snitch enemy signals across every map. Leaper Pulse Units drop from large four-legged Leaper robots, with reliable spawns at Dam Battlegrounds'Red Lakes and Water Treatment extraction zones.
Stun tools like Showstoppers simplify aiming against moving Arc enemies. Completing this step grants 50 raider tokens plus three powerful weapons: the Aphelion battle rifle, Dolabra shotgun, and Jupiter sniper rifle.
4. Step 3: Multi-Type Arc Destruction Challenge & Tips
The final Part 1 challenge splits into three distinct combat objectives: 1,500 fire damage against Arc enemies, three heavy elite enemy kills with energy weapons, and 20 flying Arc takedowns with launcher ammo.
Use blaze grenades, firefly tools, or flame spray weapons to stack fire damage efficiently on high-health targets. Elite targets including Bastions, Leapers, Vaporizers, and Rocketeers can be eliminated with the energy weapons earned in Step 2. The Jupiter sniper rifle offers superior range for safe elite takedowns.
For flying Arc kills, deploy Hullcracker or Rascal launchers. Players level 20 and above can purchase a Hullcracker from NPC Tian Wen if missing launcher gear. Step 3 rewards include another 50 raider tokens, a powered descender, horizontal grip, and snap hook movement utility.
5. Pro Player Recommendations
Complete all antenna upgrades in one Dam Battlegrounds run to skip redundant map trips. Prioritize farming Arc parts in listed high-spawn zones to avoid aimless roaming. Save fire damage tools for tanky Arc elites to speed up the 1,500 damage quota. Use newly earned energy weapons immediately to finish elite enemy objectives without extra grinding.
