Shipment's release date in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is October 27, 2026, according to the official map announcement. It returns as a 6v6 Multiplayer map with a classic layout in a Russian harbor setting. A precise opening time and dedicated Shipment 24/7 or Hardcore Shipment playlists were not confirmed in the announcements checked for this pre-release guide.

For your first matches, consider ISO Nightshade for a general close-range starting build, M4 or Rezi 12 for their unlocked point-blank Specials, and Han 86 for Stormwave once eligible. These weapon picks serve different goals. Combine leveling with available Special challenges, and save distance or difficult survival conditions for a more suitable map; no measured comparison establishes Shipment as the fastest Weapon XP option for every gun.

Shipment Release and Playlist Access

The official MW4 announcement confirms October 27 and 6v6. At the October 27 research check, actual live availability, a dedicated Shipment 24/7 queue, a Hardcore Shipment queue, and a precise activation hour could not be verified. The map's scheduled date does not establish those playlist options.

Open Multiplayer and inspect the featured playlists. If a Shipment queue is listed, select it directly. Otherwise, inspect the available map information for the regular 6v6 playlists. A map addition does not necessarily give you an on-demand public queue for that map.

The official description emphasizes a classic layout and appearance, with MW4 visual and gameplay improvements. It places the map between harbor water and surrounding concrete buildings. Treat familiar container routes as a starting reference; specific spawn behavior and dependable firing angles still need checking in this version.

Choose a Starting Weapon

For general close-range MW4 Multiplayer play, ISO Nightshade is a reasonable starting candidate. VGC's October 26 loadout recommends the following setup, balancing close-range use with additional accuracy and range:

Slot

Attachment

Muzzle

XRK Herder 40

Barrel

ZLR Carbon-99

Underbarrel

FSS TAC90 Grip

Rear Grip

Demo STP-1

Laser

Schlager Visiv-5

The tradeoff is reduced handling and mobility. Use it as a general Multiplayer starting build, not a verified fastest Shipment setup. If you lack an attachment, keep leveling with what is available; the whole configuration is not a prerequisite for beginning the grind.

For camo progress, bring the weapon that actually needs the challenge. ISO Nightshade will not advance M4 Myriad or Rezi 12 Struck Oil. An M4 with Myriad available, a Rezi 12 needing close-range progress, or an eligible Han 86 with Stormwave can each be a more useful choice for your session than switching to a stronger general-purpose gun.

Start with Your Camo Progress

Choose your next MW4 weapon according to the stage you have reached:

Your Progress

What to Do on Shipment

Gold challenge still locked

Level a close-range weapon you need, completing suitable Special challenges as they become available.

Gold challenge available

Take that weapon into a match and pursue its single-match elimination target.

Platinum challenges available

Prioritize shotgun hipfire; attempt SMG behind-kills when flank opportunities allow.

For a first Gold, a practical default is to work toward one weapon at a time. That keeps the session focused on bringing one gun through its remaining requirements. If its remaining Special needs longshots or a stable mounting angle, save that part for another map and bring a second weapon to Shipment.

If you already have a shotgun or SMG partly leveled, start there before opening a fresh one. If both are fresh, choose a shotgun for deliberate close encounters or an SMG if you are more comfortable sustaining ordinary gunfights. This is a map-fit recommendation, not a claim that either class levels faster in every lobby. There is no need to max every weapon before attempting your first Gold. Players considering COD MW4 Bot Lobbies for easier practice should still check whether their chosen match type supports the camo progress they need.

Best Challenges for Shipment

In MW4, Military Camos follow weapon-level milestones, while Special challenges have their own level prerequisites. Work on an available Special while continuing to level the gun; you do not need to finish the Military track first.

COD MW4 Gold camo grind

Camo Target

Multiplayer Requirement or Goal

Shipment Priority

Gold

15 eliminations in one match, after that weapon's eight Military and three Special Camos

High once unlocked; pursue fights throughout the match.

Shotgun Platinum

Hipfire kills

High once unlocked; build for close encounters without aiming.

Han 86 Stormwave

Weapon level 46; 50 player kills using a silencer

High; use the required attachment during ordinary gunfights.

SMG Platinum

Kills from behind

Conditional; use genuine flank opportunities.

Han 86 Smoke

Weapon level 25; 20 mounted player kills

Conditional; needs a usable mounting position and firing angle.

M4 Myriad

20 point-blank kills

High once unlocked; use cover to close the final gap.

Rezi 12 Struck Oil

20 point-blank kills

High once unlocked; seek immediate-proximity shotgun fights.

WZ.55 Striga Dark Tan

40 point-blank kills

High once unlocked; close in before firing instead of holding a lane.

Melee leveling or unlocked melee challenges

Follow the selected weapon's current condition

Conditional; approach through cover and avoid exposed chases.

An unlocked longshot challenge

Read the selected weapon's distance condition

Low; use a larger map if the available lanes cannot satisfy it.

Platinum requires the relevant weapon class's Gold challenges first. A shotgun or SMG does not become Platinum-ready simply because its own Gold is complete. Also keep the Gold wording in mind: the official requirement says eliminations, and the total must come from a single Multiplayer match.

Finish Gold and Platinum Targets

Reach the Single-Match Gold Target

For MW4's single-match Gold target, take repeatable fights around the active objective and its approaches. After respawning, use the nearest cover to find a target before sprinting across an exposed lane. Chasing one opponent through several blind corners can cost the time you could spend taking another fight.

Avoid treating the target as a streak requirement. A death does not turn a single-match elimination goal into a failed attempt; keep working toward the match total.

Move to Shotguns or Stormwave

If your shotgun class has Platinum available, use Shipment to attempt its hipfire requirement. Approach through cover, keep engagements close, and resist aiming down sights out of habit when the challenge specifically needs hipfire. If opponents repeatedly catch you across an open lane, change your approach instead of trying to force a distant shotgun duel.

For an eligible Han 86, Stormwave is a straightforward alternative. Equip a silencer and choose positions where you can acquire a target before being overwhelmed. You can concentrate on ordinary weapon fights without arranging a flank or remaining mounted.

If neither option is ready, return to leveling a weapon with a suitable Special available. Delay an awkward gun when its remaining challenge needs distance or a more controlled engagement.

Treat SMG Flanks as Opportunistic

For SMG Platinum, favor an outside route when teammates are already engaging enemies from another direction. Take the rear approach when it is open. If the route repeatedly leads into opponents facing you, stop trying to run through them to manufacture a behind-kill.

Shipment's small footprint gives you less room to build a flank. Switch maps when frontal encounters dominate your attempts. A high match kill count provides little value to this target if the kills do not meet its condition.

Point-Blank Kills and Melee

Close the Gap before Firing

For an unlocked MW4 point-blank Special, use cover to get into immediate proximity before firing. An ordinary short-range kill may still be too far away. Avoid holding a lane and hoping enemies cross close enough; approach the side of a contested objective or a container corner where you can shorten the final approach.

If you can safely get closer, delay firing until you have closed that gap. Do not turn it into a sprint across an exposed lane. Confirm that your first attempts advance the challenge before repeating the approach: no exact universal distance threshold is established here.

Core is a sensible starting option if you need time to close in. Hardcore can leave less time to reach that proximity before either player dies. Treat it as a separate option if available, without assuming it improves every point-blank challenge.

Separate Melee Leveling from Streaks

Shipment is worth trying for melee leveling if long approaches are what slow you down elsewhere. Move between pieces of cover, approach opponents occupied by teammates, and abandon a chase when it pulls you into open gunfire. Repeated deaths before reaching anyone are a reason to change the route or map.

For later melee camo conditions that require surviving consecutive kills, frequent encounters can also interrupt the required sequence. Judge that condition separately from basic leveling. The same map can suit attempts to land individual melee kills and frustrate a survival challenge.

Challenges to Move Elsewhere

For MW4's Han 86 Smoke, try mounting beside cover with a view into a contested approach. Choose an angle you can leave when enemies pressure it. Remaining attached to a position that gets you eliminated before you can fire makes the challenge unnecessarily slow.

Move Smoke to another map if you cannot find a stable angle. Do the same for longshots when Shipment cannot provide the distance your selected challenge needs. Avoid spending matches firing down the longest-looking lane without knowing whether it qualifies.

Survival conditions also deserve a separate decision. When repeated deaths prevent you from completing the required sequence, use a map with room to retreat and reset the engagement. Keep Shipment for goals that benefit from frequent fights without demanding that you survive several of them consecutively.

Weapon XP and Prestige Timing

Shipment is a reasonable weapon-leveling option when it reduces time spent searching for opponents. It can become inefficient when you spend most encounters dying before using the target gun. No measured MW4 comparison here establishes that it beats every other map or playlist. COD MW4 Bot Lobbies may appeal to players looking for a more controlled practice environment, but weapon XP and challenge progression should not be assumed to work the same way in every lobby.

Before entering Weapon Prestige in MW4, finish attachment-dependent challenges you still want to attempt. Weapon Prestige resets the gun to level 1 and relocks most attachments. Apex and Weapon Blueprint attachments are exceptions; earned camos remain unlocked. Check whether the attachment you need would stay available before accepting the reset.

For a silencer challenge such as Stormwave, postponing Prestige avoids a possible detour to regain the required attachment. Do not assume that retaining a camo means retaining the whole loadout. If you have already Prestiged, inspect the available attachments and rebuild a qualifying setup before returning to the challenge.

Use Double Weapon XP tokens when the goal is leveling; they do not replace a camo's stated kill requirement. For hipfire targets, favor unlocked attachments whose displayed benefits improve hipfire accuracy or spread. Once the setup satisfies the condition, spend the session using it.
