Start Nurse Harrow with a Healing Needles support build: prioritize its early healing upgrade, add Healing Booster and magazine capacity, then develop enough charge recovery to sustain your team through a fight.
Collect leeches when you can reach them safely. Before using Wretched Vapors on a teammate, check that you have healing ready and a clear shot at them. Its delayed damage can turn a rescue into a death during the crash.
Harrow joined Deadlock on October 20, 2026, completing the City Never Sleeps hero releases. This beginner support route emphasizes reliable healing, with leech and control alternatives.
Nurse Harrow Build at a Glance

If you're learning Harrow on new DeadLock Accounts, focus your first lane on securing trooper income, throwing leeches at enemies who approach your side, and healing your partner without emptying every reserve.
Once you can sustain a skirmish, join a teammate who can turn that healing into kills or objective pressure.
Abilities and Essential Mechanics
Leech Therapy
Leech Therapy attaches leeches to enemies, dealing Spirit damage and reducing buff durations. Retrieve fed leeches to recover health and gain persistent regeneration and fire rate. You start with a maximum of 10 collected leeches; the final upgrade raises that cap to 18. Death removes 25% of your stacks.
Early leeches crawl slowly and need you nearby. Cast when opponents advance toward you; collect when safe. Leave leeches behind an enemy Guardian. Ground-based leeches also struggle against flying enemies.
Wretched Vapors
Wretched Vapors gives yourself or an ally Spectre Rush, accelerating actions while deferring incoming damage. Spectre Crash then slows actions and applies the remaining delayed damage with a 30% penalty. Healing can clear the deferred damage, so the recipient still needs treatment.
Use it when a threatened ally needs time to reach cover and you can keep healing them. Avoid casting it casually on a healthy frontliner absorbing sustained fire, especially with empty healing reserves or heavy anti-heal active. Delayed damage is not automatically prevented damage.
Healing Needles
Activate Healing Needles to load a healing magazine and shoot teammates. Allied headshots receive 15% extra healing, but reliable body shots take priority when someone is close to death. Magazine capacity determines how many needles fit into each charge.
Damage dealt restores charges, and collected leeches provide passive recovery. Reloading in healing mode spends another charge. You need a full charge to enter the mode; switching back preserves the unused portion. Sliding does not provide unlimited healing ammunition.
Healing Needles T1 adds one maximum charge. T2 adds 20 healing per needle and restores 0.6 stamina to the ally hit, helping them regain movement resources for an escape or chase. T3 improves Spirit scaling and extends non-ultimate buffs, including Spectre Rush, within the extension limit. Continue treating deferred damage during an extended rush.
Lurking Terrors
Harrow opens her bag to deal Spirit damage in front of her. Enemies looking at her build terror and eventually flee in fear. More collected leeches increase fear duration. The final upgrade grants damage immunity while channeling, but crowd control can still interrupt her.
Choose your angle before casting: limited turning lets enemies escape behind you. Opponents can look away or disengage to reduce the threat.
Beginner Support Build: Skill Order
For Harrow, unlock Leech Therapy (1) first, Healing Needles (3) second, Wretched Vapors (2) third, and Lurking Terrors (4) when the ultimate unlock becomes available. Unlocks and upgrades are separate: follow that unlock sequence while spending ability points in the order below.
T1, T2, and T3 cost 1, 2, and 5 AP respectively. Save points between upgrades; the table lists upgrade transactions, not successive character levels. This route emphasizes dependable healing.
Step | Upgrade | AP Cost | Total AP Spent |
1 | Healing Needles T1 | 1 | 1 |
2 | Healing Needles T2 | 2 | 3 |
3 | Wretched Vapors T1 | 1 | 4 |
4 | Lurking Terrors T1 | 1 | 5 |
5 | Lurking Terrors T2 | 2 | 7 |
6 | Healing Needles T3 | 5 | 12 |
7 | Lurking Terrors T3 | 5 | 17 |
8 | Leech Therapy T1 | 1 | 18 |
9 | Leech Therapy T2 | 2 | 20 |
10 | Leech Therapy T3 | 5 | 25 |
11 | Wretched Vapors T2 | 2 | 27 |
12 | Wretched Vapors T3 | 5 | 32 |
Early Healing Needles investment gives immediate healing and stamina support even when leeches are unsafe to collect.
Delaying Leech Therapy upgrades postpones its stamina drain, shorter cooldown, and T2 Spirit Power; collected stacks still grant their base benefits. This trade favors a lane partner you can reliably heal. Move Needles T3 before steps 4 and 5 if sustained healing is the immediate problem.
For a leech-focused alternative, move Leech Therapy T1 and T2 immediately after step 3 when you can consistently maintain 8 to 10 stacks. T2 grants 4 Spirit Power per collected leech: 32 at eight stacks or 40 at ten.
That strengthens Spirit-scaling healing and abilities alongside the stacks' regeneration and fire rate. Continue the remaining upgrades in their listed order, skipping those already completed.
Prioritize Wretched Vapors T3 earlier against recurring non-ultimate debuffs. For an ultimate-first route, move Lurking Terrors T3 before Healing Needles T3 when coordinated objective fights need control more than additional sustain.
Route | Choose It When | Tradeoff |
Beginner support | You can sustain a reliable damage dealer | Delays leech upgrades |
Leech/control | Stacks are accessible and your team follows fear | Less early healing investment |
Experimental survival/damage | Testing alternatives after learning the core loop | Vapors/ultimate/Echo Shard combinations lack a stable recommendation here |
These alternatives are not ranked by win rate.
Manage Leech Stacks
Work toward 8 to 10 stacks through safe pickups. Their regeneration supports recovery, fire rate accelerates healing, and T2 adds Spirit Power. Collect after enemies retreat or your team controls the ground.
Abandon leeches across enemy fire without cover. When health and healing reserves run low, retreat, recover, and rebuild during the next safe engagement. Death removes 25% of your stacks.
Items by Game Stage
Early Game Priorities
The opening order is Extra Regen, Extended Magazine, Extra Spirit, Titanic Magazine, then Healing Booster. Extra Regen covers Harrow's lack of starting natural regeneration; magazine capacity extends each healing charge.
Whether you're playing on new or established DeadLock Accounts, use checkpoints instead of a fixed timer; lane length and income vary.
Checkpoint | Equipment Priority | If Resources Are Limited |
While trading in lane | Extra Regen, Extended Magazine, Extra Spirit | Sustain first if pressure forces you out |
Before routine rotations | Aim for Healing Booster and Titanic Magazine | Keep Extended Magazine and prioritize Healing Booster; delay Titanic |
Heals land but remain too weak | Improved Spirit | Prioritize stronger needles over additional reserves |
Effective heals repeatedly exhaust reserves | Rapid Recharge | Add it conditionally, not automatically |
Grouped objective fights | Ricochet | Delay when allies fight far apart |
Control decides the fight | Duration or cooldown investment | Choose the limitation you actually encounter |
When behind, prioritize Healing Booster over completing Titanic Magazine: improve the healing you can already deliver while keeping the smaller magazine. Move Titanic earlier when each magazine empties before a save is finished. Continue securing safe trooper income between fights.
Midgame Core and Recovery
After the opening core, take Improved Spirit, then Ricochet for grouped healing. With charges available but insufficient healing, add Spirit Power. With effective heals but no magazine ready for the next ally, prioritize reserves or recovery.
Recharging Rush is an optional passive: deal 200 weapon damage within 3.5 seconds to restore one charge, with a 25-second cooldown. Consider it only if you can consistently meet that requirement. Healing allies does not trigger it; avoid relying on emergency procs.
Arcane Surge rewards a dash-jump before your next ability with additional range, duration, and Spirit Power. Consider it when you can prepare the intended cast safely. An emergency healing build prioritizes consistent output without that setup.
Superior Cooldown helps bring cooldown-based spells back for another fight; it does not directly refill Healing Needles. Duration Extender and Superior Duration suit useful buff and fear windows that end too soon. These can precede more healing investment on a control route.
Late Game Choices
Ricochet spreads reduced needle healing to nearby allies. Healing Tempo adds offensive and movement benefits to qualifying heals; Boundless Spirit improves Spirit scaling. Choose them when ammunition and positioning already let you sustain teammates.
Move Unstoppable ahead of another output item if interrupts repeatedly end Lurking Terrors. Activate it before channeling and account for its protection ending. Damage immunity alone does not protect the cast from control.
Early, Mid, and Late Game
Survive the Lane
If you're still getting comfortable with Harrow on your DeadLock Accounts, avoid prolonged trades: her modest gun damage and limited early sustain make them risky.
Secure last hits, stay near cover, and let opponents approach before throwing leeches. Heal your lane partner when they need it, then return to normal fire to contribute damage and recover resources.
If enemies carry leeches behind their Guardian, continue farming and wait for safer collection. Dying for one pickup delays your useful items.
Support Your Damage Dealers
Once your healing items are functioning, rotate with a teammate who can threaten enemies. Arrive with a full Healing Needles charge and position where cover protects you without blocking shots at that teammate.
Alternate healing with safe damage windows. Tell teammates when reserves are low so they can disengage. Take accessible trooper income between fights; avoid prolonged solo camp rotations while your team needs support.
Prepare Objective Fights
Before a late Deadlock fight, identify your likely healing target, check your charges, and find the enemy abilities that can interrupt your ultimate. Maintain a firing lane to your damage dealer without standing beside them in the same incoming area damage.
Around Mid Boss, Lurking Terrors can punish opponents contesting a confined approach. Wait for a useful angle and follow-up from your team. Casting into an available interrupt can waste your main control tool before the objective is decided.
Combos and Mistakes to Avoid
Situation | Recommended Sequence | Failure to Avoid |
Ally faces lethal pressure | Confirm healing reserves, cast Vapors, fire needles, follow them toward cover | Leaving immediately after the rush begins |
Healing reserves run low | Switch to normal fire during a safe window, deal damage, collect accessible leeches | Expecting an ordinary reload to create free needles |
Enemies group to contest | Position first, account for interrupts, use Lurking Terrors with allied follow-up | Starting the channel where enemies can move behind you |
Heavy anti-heal is active | Break pressure and use an available cleanse before committing the save | Assuming a longer rush removes the healing penalty |
During a Harrow emergency save, keep treating deferred damage even if the health bar looks stable. If healing cannot keep up, help the ally escape.
Counters and Difficult Matchups
Anti-heal reduces Harrow's ability to erase deferred damage and sustain teammates. Wretched Vapors T3 can remove non-ultimate debuffs on cast, but enemies may reapply them. Use that window to reposition or finish the engagement rather than assuming lasting protection.
Stuns and other interrupts threaten Lurking Terrors even at its final upgrade. Hold the ultimate until a threatening interrupt is spent, or protect the cast with Unstoppable when appropriate. Against flying or mobile opponents, expect fewer easy leech collections and prioritize safe income and reliable healing.
Nurse Harrow FAQ
Is Harrow Suitable for Beginners?
Yes, provided you learn the healing-mode switch and reserve Wretched Vapors for saves you can support. Start with the healing route before experimenting with an ultimate-focused build.
Can Healing Needles Heal Harrow?
They heal allies. Harrow's own sustain comes from collected leeches, regeneration, and other recovery effects.
Does Ricochet Work with Healing Needles?
Yes. It allows healing shots to bounce to nearby allies with reduced healing on the secondary hits. Position for allies who are fighting close enough to benefit.
Is Her Upgraded Ultimate Uninterruptible?
No. Its damage immunity does not grant control immunity. An available stun can still end the channel.
