Diablo 4 3.1 PTR Is Live: Blizzard Finally Adds SSF and Reworks Mythic Gear

Diablo4 Jun-02-2026 PST

Blizzard has officially launched the Diablo IV 3.1.0 Public Test Realm (PTR), giving players an early look at the next seasonal update. The PTR is available from June 2 at 10:00 a.m. PDT through June 9 at 10:00 a.m. PDT, allowing the community to test new systems and provide feedback before the update reaches the live servers.

The latest PTR introduces several highly requested features, including Solo Self Found (SSF) mode, a reworked Mythic Unique system, new seasonal activities known as Pandemonium Ruptures, and multiple quality-of-life improvements aimed at improving the overall gameplay experience.

Solo Self Found (SSF) Officially Arrives

One of the most anticipated additions in Diablo IV is finally becoming a reality. Solo Self Found mode offers a dedicated experience for players who want to progress entirely on their own without relying on trading or group play.

According to Blizzard, SSF characters will:

• Be available in Seasonal Realms.

• Support both Normal and Hardcore variants.

• Be unable to trade or form parties with other players.

• Have separate progression and leaderboard tracking.

• Automatically convert to regular characters when the season ends.

In this mode, players must rely entirely on their own progression, meaning all Diablo 4 Items and Diablo 4 Gold must be earned exclusively through personal gameplay without any trading or external assistance.

Blizzard has also added dedicated SSF and Hardcore SSF leaderboard categories, allowing solo players to compete against others under the same restrictions.

Pandemonium Ruptures Introduce New Seasonal Content

The centerpiece of the PTR is a new activity called Pandemonium Ruptures.

These events bring demonic invasions across Sanctuary and challenge players with new enemy encounters, objectives, and rewards. During Ruptures, players will battle members of a new monster family known as The Risen while working toward encounters with powerful Realmwalkers.

Defeating Realmwalkers grants access to special follow-up content and seasonal rewards, creating a new endgame progression path for players looking to push their characters further.

Blizzard says the system is designed to provide more engaging endgame activities while offering additional opportunities for character progression and loot acquisition.

Mythic Uniques Receive a Major Rework

Another headline feature of the PTR is the overhaul of Mythic Unique items.

Under the new system, Mythic status becomes a special enhancement tier that can be applied to Unique items through seasonal progression systems. Blizzard aims to make Mythic items more accessible while significantly increasing build customization opportunities.

Key changes include:

• New methods of obtaining Mythic-quality gear.

• Additional crafting options through the Horadric Cube.

• Expanded customization for Unique items.

• More flexibility when incorporating Mythic gear into character builds.

The rework is intended to reduce reliance on extremely rare drops while giving players more control over their endgame equipment progression.

Leaderboards and Endgame Progression Expanded

Blizzard is also continuing to improve competitive and endgame systems.

The Tower and leaderboard systems receive additional support, including new reward structures and recognition for high-ranking players. Seasonal and weekly rewards will offer cosmetics, titles, and other progression incentives for dedicated competitors.

The update also includes improvements to group-oriented systems and progression mechanics designed to make endgame activities more rewarding for a wider range of players.

Quality-of-Life Improvements

Several quality-of-life changes are included in the PTR build.

Notable updates include:

• Obol capacity increased from 2,500 to 25,000.

• Additional minimap indicators for various activities and objectives.

• Missing crafting recipes for certain boss trophies have been added.

• Improvements to Helltide-related progression systems.

• Various interface, balance, and gameplay fixes.

The Obol cap increase is expected to be one of the most welcomed changes, significantly reducing the need for frequent visits to spend currency.

Looking Ahead

The Diablo IV 3.1 PTR represents one of the game's most substantial updates in recent months. With the arrival of Solo Self Found mode, major Mythic Unique changes, and a brand-new seasonal activity, Blizzard appears focused on expanding both solo and endgame experiences.

Players can test the new features throughout the PTR period and submit feedback directly to Blizzard before the update is finalized. While Blizzard has not yet announced the official release date for the next season, the PTR provides a clear preview of the direction Diablo IV is heading in the months ahead.
