Summary
Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition expands the Lands Between with seven new weapons and four armor sets, giving both new and returning Tarnished more options for early builds and late-game experimentation. The update also introduces two new starting classes, but existing characters can collect most of the new equipment without starting over. If you want to level up faster, you can also buy Elden Ring Runes for upgrades and new builds.
All 7 New Weapons
1. Idus Sword
The Idus Sword is associated with the new Idus Knight class. You can find it on a corpse beneath a tree in southern Liurnia, northwest of the Liurnia Lake Shore Site of Grace.
2. Hefty Scimitar
This curved weapon belongs to the Heavy Knight setup. Travel to Fort Haight West in southern Limgrave, then head north to the Nomadic Merchant, who sells it.
3. Reverse-Bladed Sword
The Reverse-Bladed Sword can be purchased from the Twin Maiden Husks at Roundtable Hold, making it one of the easiest new weapons to obtain.
4. Ritual Thrusting Shield
Head to the Caelid Colosseum to find this unusual shield weapon. Reaching the area requires access through the Siofra River route.
5. Reed Great Katana
Travel to Dragonbarrow near Fort Faroth. A corpse on a tall, grey mound north of the fort holds the Reed Great Katana.
6. Leontiel's Greatsword
Enter Radahn's arena in Caelid and head north after defeating Radahn. Knight Leontiel will invade, and defeating her rewards the Greatsword.
7. Golden Order Flail
This weapon is connected to the Brother Corhyn and Goldmask questline. Progress through the quest in Leyndell and use Law of Regression at the Radagon statue to trigger the required encounter.
All 4 New Armor Sets
Silver Grooved Set: Visit the Nomadic Merchant north of Bellum Church in Liurnia. The set includes the helm, armor, gauntlets, and greaves.
Steel Set: The Heavy Knight armor can be purchased from the Isolated Merchant's Shack in the Weeping Peninsula.
Leontiel Set: Defeat Knight Leontiel in Radahn's arena to receive her complete armor set alongside the Greatsword.
Broken Gold Mask Set: Progress the Corhyn/Goldmask questline in Leyndell and complete the Law of Regression step to unlock the encounter connected to this set.
Final Tips
The best part of Tarnished Edition's new gear is accessibility. Several items can be collected relatively early, while others reward players for exploring Caelid and progressing NPC questlines. If you are starting a new build, the Idus Sword, Hefty Scimitar, and Reverse-Bladed Sword are particularly useful options to investigate early.
Before testing new builds, make sure you have enough Elden Ring Runes ready for upgrades and stat adjustments.
