FIFA 27 Future Stars Academy lets you develop a young player to 85 OVR through four Evolutions. Academy I opened on October 9, offering Pace, Shooting and Dribbling paths. The same path can deliver very different gains depending on your player.

The first four levels provide shared upgrades; Level 5 introduces the choice. Compare attributes after those shared boosts against each path's caps. A higher starting rating does not automatically make a card the better candidate.

Academy is not repeatable, so consider finished attributes, star ratings and squad chemistry before committing. Academy progression comes from match challenges, separate from Future Stars live upgrades driven by real-world performances.

FC 27 Future Stars Academy: How to Choose a Player Without Wasting Upgrades

Check Eligibility and Preview Results

FUT 27 Academy entrants must be born on or after October 9, 2003, have ST or CAM as a position, and meet these limits: 80 OVR, 86 Pace and seven PlayStyles. Academy I is free. Different versions of a player can have different positions and attributes, so check the exact card.

Preview two or three candidates through Academy I, comparing attributes for your intended role. A lower-rated card may catch up in some areas while retaining better Skill Moves.

A higher-rated card may lead in attributes Evolution leaves untouched. Starting OVR and total attribute gains cannot settle the choice alone.

If you need a market addition, compare the finished cards before allocating your FC 27 coins budget. Include the cost of changing teammates to accommodate chemistry.

Calculate the Level 5 Gains

In FUT 27 Academy I, each of the first four levels requires one appearance with your active EVO player; Level 5 requires one win.

Eligible modes are Squad Battles, Rush, Rivals, Champions and Live Events. Squad Battles requires at least Semi-Pro difficulty. Complete and claim each level, then earn the win once Level 5 is active.

Calculate branch gains from the player's attributes after Level 4. The actual increase is the smaller of the listed boost and the remaining room below its cap. Attributes already above the cap receive no further increase.

Path

Main Boosts and Caps

Star Upgrade

Pace

Acceleration and Sprint Speed +12 each, capped at 84; Finishing +10, capped at 82

Weak Foot +2, capped at four stars

Shooting

Finishing +12, capped at 86; Shot Power +12, capped at 87

Weak Foot +2, capped at four stars

Dribbling

Agility, Ball Control and Dribbling +12 each, capped at 87

Skill Moves +2, capped at four stars

For example, 78 Acceleration reaches 81 through shared upgrades, leaving only three points from Pace. Also check Sprint Speed, Positioning and Finishing before dismissing the whole path.

With 79 Finishing after Level 4, Pace reaches 82 while Shooting reaches 86. For a player mainly receiving passes inside the box, try strengthening their finishing before spending FIFA 27 coins on another scorer.

Compare Two FC 27 Candidates

Consider Cavan Sullivan's 80 OVR TOTW and Kendry Páez's 74 OVR Rare card. Sullivan's TOTW has CAM eligibility; his regular 67 OVR card lacks ST and CAM. These calculations use base attributes without Chemistry Styles. Check the in-game preview before committing.

Sullivan has 88 Acceleration and 85 Sprint Speed, but his face-card Pace is 86. Entry checks overall Pace, while Level 5 path caps the individual attributes it improves.

Sullivan already has four-star Weak Foot, so Pace adds neither speed nor Weak Foot stars. Shooting adds seven Finishing and six Shot Power. Dribbling improves control and raises his three-star Skill Moves to four.

Páez already has five-star Skill Moves and 92 Agility, so Dribbling adds nothing there, although Ball Control and Dribbling each gain seven. Shooting improves his three-star Weak Foot to four alongside his shooting attributes, suiting a CAM who regularly enters the box.

Future PlayStyle room also differs. Sullivan has Chip Shot, Technical and Quick Step; Páez has Pinged Pass and Trickster.

Academy III's preview caps PlayStyle additions at three total: Sullivan is already there and already has Technical, while Páez could gain one. Academy IV's Shooting path has a four-PlayStyle cap, requiring another check when available.

Both reach 86 Finishing and 87 Shot Power through Shooting, but their body types differ. Sullivan is 170 cm with an Explosive base profile; Páez is 178 cm and Controlled.

Recheck AcceleRATE after Evolution and Chemistry Style boosts. If you already enjoy one card's handling, you can reserve FUT 27 coins for other weak positions instead of funding squad changes.

Adjust Later Paths to Weaknesses

FC 27 previews schedule Academy II, III and IV for October 11, 13 and 16, reaching 82, 83 and 85 OVR. As of October 10, these stages remain unreleased; check full requirements, challenges and caps when available.

The seven-PlayStyle entry allowance exceeds later addition caps. Reaching a cap does not remove the value of attribute upgrades.

A CAM can start with Shooting, then consider Playmaker and Passing. Strong dribblers need not follow Dribbling and Technical automatically. For a running striker, check whether Rapid is already present, can be added and comes with useful attribute gains. Academy III previews list regular PlayStyles, not PlayStyle+.

Preserve Eligibility for Later Stages

Previewed entry caps of 81, 82 and 83 OVR match the preceding stages' results. Applying other Evolutions between steps could raise OVR or alter PlayStyle counts, so check the full chain before submitting.

EA SPORTS FC 27 will also introduce an Academy Objective. Check its modes and appearance requirements to see whether it overlaps with Evolution challenges. Extra rewards remain unspecified; choose a player who fits your regular squad.
