Summary
Path of Exile 2's endgame is a different beast from its predecessor. The maps are longer, the bosses hit harder, and the loot can be absolutely absurd. This guide covers three of the most talked-about subjects in the current PoE2 meta: farming Mageblood, temple runs for Communion, and the Static Strike boss tech that's letting players delete pinnacle content. Whether you're a softcore farmer chasing divines, a hardcore racer trying to survive the longest map in the game, or someone looking to buy POE 2 Exalted Orbs to speed up your progression, there's something here for you.
Part 1: The Longest Map in PoE2 — Murius Spirit Farming
The Murius Spirit map is currently the longest single map in Path of Exile 2, with recorded runs stretching to 2 hours and 47 minutes. This isn't a map you casually run — it requires two things:
A character that can survive it — both in raw defenses and sustain
A PC that can survive it — the strategy involves an enormous number of monsters and drops, and weaker machines will choke
Why Run It?
The loot density is unlike anything else in the game. Players report more divines dropping in one map than they'd normally see in five. The map is also a known source of Mageblood drops — one player famously got a Mageblood on a magic map, their first ever across both PoE1 and PoE2.
The community joke says it best: "One Mageblood a day keeps Jonathan away."
Preparation Checklist
Defenses: Cap your resistances, stack life or ES, and bring a defensive layer (block, evasion, or armor)
Sustain: Life leech, ES recharge, or a reliable recovery flask setup
Clear speed: You'll be in there for hours — a slow build makes this unbearable
Hardware: Close other applications, lower graphical settings, and make sure your PC can handle hundreds of entities on screen
Part 2: Temple Runs — Farming Communion to Buy Mageblood
If you can't get a Mageblood to drop, the next best thing is farming Communion from the temple and using it to buy one.
Why Temple?
The temple has become a reliable source of Communion, one of the most valuable trade currencies in the current economy. Players report getting Communion drops that directly fund their Mageblood purchase.
"This is why I'm never going to stop doing temple."
The Temple Loop
Run the temple repeatedly — treat it as your primary income source
Collect Communion from boss kills and chests
Trade Communion for divines, then convert to Mageblood
Use the same runs for crafting bases — the temple also drops high-value items worth IDing
What Else Drops in Temple?
High-value rare items worth identifying (one player hit a 475 divine item, though it didn't roll the +3 skill mods they wanted)
Corrupted items — these drop corrupted sometimes, so don't be surprised
Rib and collar bone bases — these are hidden on the loot filter by default, so check your filter settings if you're not seeing them
The Gamble Factor
Temple runs are also where you'll do a lot of gambling. You'll ID items hoping for +3 to a good skill, and sometimes you'll get nothing. As one player put it: "This keeps your ego in check."
Part 3: Static Strike Boss Tech — The Ruthless Counter Reset
This is the big one for bossing. The Static Strike interaction with Intimidating Cry and Ruthless Support is letting players put out damage numbers that look like bugs.
How the Combo Works
The core pieces:
Static Strike — your main damage skill, which spawns beams for its duration
Intimidating Cry — exerts attacks for double damage
Ruthless Support — every third hit deals 70% more damage
The problem: How do you line up the Ruthless third hit with your Intimidating Cry exert?
The Tech
Remove and reinsert the Ruthless Support gem — this resets the hit counter back to zero
Hit the boss once — this is hit #1
Use Intimidating Cry — this exerts your next attacks
Hit the boss a second time — hit #2
Hit the boss a third time — hit #3, which is the Ruthless strike and also gets the exerted double damage
The result: your third hit deals exerted double damage plus 70% more from Ruthless, all at once.
