Summary
The 0.5 rework has significantly improved the Trial of Chaos in Path of Exile 2. With better rewards, improved scaling, and a more efficient way to complete long runs, Trial of Chaos can now provide substantial currency and valuable Soul Cores.
The key is to complete all 30 rooms, reach the Trial Master, and reduce unnecessary downtime between rooms. Across 50 runs, the method generated more than 1,000 POE 2 Divine Orbs in total value, including a valuable Adorn Jewel, while the repeatable farming rate reached roughly 48 Divines per hour before the jackpot drop.
Here is how to make the most of the reworked Trial of Chaos.
Why Run 30 Rooms in Trial of Chaos?
The main goal is to complete the entire 30-room Trial instead of stopping after shorter sections.
Once all 30 rooms are completed, all three Fates are guaranteed. This gives you access to the Trial Master, making the full run much more valuable than simply selling the rewards from shorter runs.
The Trial Master also provides a chance to obtain the Adorn Jewel. The stated chance is around 2%, or approximately one drop every 50 runs on average. However, this is RNG rather than a guaranteed reward.
In 50 runs, an Adorn Jewel dropped on run 40 and was sold for 729 Divines at the time.
The Value of Longer Runs
Thirty-room runs take more time, but they provide access to the full reward cycle. You can collect currency, Soul Cores, skill gems, Fates, and other valuable items throughout the Trial before reaching the Trial Master.
The key is therefore not simply surviving 30 rooms, but completing them quickly enough for the rewards to justify the time investment.
Trial of Chaos Farming Setup
Use an Area Level 80 Inscribed Ultimatum for the farming setup.
When selecting modifiers, prioritize additional rewards and rarity while avoiding effects that can seriously interfere with your build. A profitable modifier is not useful if it causes the run to fail.
Safer Modifiers to Consider
Several modifiers can be relatively manageable depending on your build:
Blood Globules
Burning or Shocking Turrets
Drought
Lethal Rare Monsters
Pyramid Beams
Shielding Monsters
Stormcaller Runes
Toxic Monsters
Val Omnitec
Resistant Monsters
Pyramid Beams are particularly easy to handle if you have Corrupted Blood immunity.
Other modifiers can be considerably more dangerous. Damage Defenses, Escalating Damage Taken, Monster Speed, Petrification Statues, Reduced Recovery, Reduced Resistances, Volatile Fiends, and Time Paradox can create serious problems depending on your build.
Petrification combined with Time Paradox can be especially dangerous, while a Staunching Charm can help deal with bleeding effects.
The general rule is simple: take the highest-value modifier you can safely handle rather than gambling an entire run on an overly dangerous option.
How to Complete 30 Rooms Faster
The biggest efficiency improvement comes from reducing the amount of time spent traveling between rooms.
After completing a room, use:
Escape → Respawn at Checkpoint → Re-enter the Trial
This lets you skip much of the normal backtracking and elevator travel.
A typical 30-room run can take around 30–35 minutes without this technique. Using the checkpoint reset can reduce the run to approximately 20–25 minutes, which has a major impact on the final Divines-per-hour calculation.
Continue the Trial at 10 and 20 Rooms
When you reach the reward screen after 10 or 20 rooms, choose Continue Trial to proceed toward the full 30-room clear.
You can also encounter wager modifiers that improve existing rewards. These can add another reward to a room or double pending rewards.
Reward-doubling opportunities are particularly valuable later in the Trial, when you have already accumulated more valuable rewards. Offerings involving Divine Orbs, Chaos Orbs, Greater Chaos Orbs, and Perfect Exalted Orbs are worth paying attention to.
