Gameplay is the main focus of this update, with several changes affecting blocking, passing, quarterback movement, defensive adjustments, and special teams.
Improved Run-Action Block Targeting
Run-action block targeting has been improved to detect threats more effectively.
This change should make blocking assignments more reliable, particularly for pulling and lead blockers. The improvement can be especially noticeable on outside runs such as stretches and tosses, where blockers need to identify defenders at the second level.
Lead blockers, including fullbacks and tight ends, should now be better at recognizing their intended targets instead of bypassing nearby defenders and moving toward a deeper player.

Wide Receiver Catch Success Improved
Wide receiver catch success rates have also been tuned for off-target and hurried passes.
The adjustment is particularly relevant to throw-out-of-sack animations. When a quarterback throws while trying to avoid a sack, the resulting pass may be slightly high, low, or otherwise off target.
These passes are still intended to be catchable, however. Update 4.5 improves receiver consistency in these situations so that slightly inaccurate throws are not unnecessarily punished when the receiver can realistically make the catch.
Field Goal Blocking Exploit Fixed
One of the most important online fixes addresses a field goal blocking issue involving looping defenders.
A defensive lineman could previously use a specific looping movement during a field goal block to get through the protection without being properly detected. This could lead to repeated blocked field goals or extra points.
Update 4.5 addresses the issue, removing the exploit from the game.

His in-game profile also includes his coaching history and unique abilities.

Deion Sanders comes with the Master Motivator ability and has the Talent Developer tree unlocked.
This gives players another recognizable coaching option when building or rebuilding a Dynasty program, particularly for those looking to recreate the Coach Prime era at Colorado.
Colorado Adds Brennan Marion
Colorado also receives another important addition with offensive coordinator Brennan Marion.
Marion is included with the Motivator archetype and has the Scheme Guru tree unlocked.
With both Sanders and Marion now available, Colorado's Dynasty staff is more fully represented in the game.
Akron Adds a Fan as Offensive Coordinator
One of the more unusual additions in Update 4.5 is Martin Whims II, who is now listed as Akron's offensive coordinator.
Whims earned the position after winning a contest that allowed a fan to serve as Akron's offensive coordinator for OneDrive.
The game now reflects that event by adding him as an official offensive coordinator and unlocking the Scheme Guru tree for him.
New College Football 27 Mascots
Update 4.5 also adds mascots for two of the new teams introduced to College Football 27.
Sacramento State Mascot
Sacramento State's mascot has been added to the game.
The team joined College Football 27 as a new program, and additional pieces of its presentation are being added over time. The mascot is now available and can also appear in Mascot Mashup.
North Dakota State Bison
North Dakota State's Bison mascot is also now available.
Like Sacramento State, North Dakota State was added as a new team, and its in-game representation is still being expanded. The Bison mascot can also be used in Mascot Mashup.
The update does not yet include every piece of either team's real-life presentation, such as their stadiums, but the addition of their mascots is another step toward completing their representation in the game.
What to Expect From Title Update 5
College Football 27 uses smaller 0.5 updates between larger title updates. Update 4.5 focuses heavily on gameplay changes and fixes, while the next major Title Update 5 is expected to arrive within the following few weeks.
