summary
Star Citizen Alpha 4.10.1 is targeted for release later this week, bringing extensive bug fixes, stability improvements, performance optimizations, and the new Orison Relief Support event. Players can complete gathering, crafting, hauling, and combat missions to earn permanent weapon and armor blueprints, while those looking to strengthen their in-game resources can also explore options to buy Star Citizen AUEC. Meanwhile, Pirate Week continues, while Alpha 4.11 is planned for Q4 2026 with Nyx and major planetary technology upgrades.
Alpha 4.10.1 Targets Live Release
The latest 4.10.1 build has reached release-candidate status, suggesting that the update is approaching its live deployment. CIG is continuing to review bug reports and Issue Council submissions while applying final stability improvements.
Among the notable fixes and changes are:
· Improvements to ASOP terminals and ship status issues
· Fixes for Mendo Ren’s HMG spawning problems
· Additional stability and performance improvements
· Reduced PTU logging and debugging overhead
· Freight elevator platform limits to prevent overloading
· Better distribution of hauling contracts based on SCU, weight, and cargo requirements
· Shard recovery improvements designed to reduce situations where players become locked out of the game
Players testing the PTU have also reported more stable frame rates after recent changes. CIG has indicated that further optimization work is still being completed before the patch goes live.
There is no planned wipe associated with Alpha 4.10.1, and the update could arrive at any point before the weekend.
Orison Relief Support Event
One of the biggest additions in Alpha 4.10.1 is the Orison Relief Support event. Following the Nine Tails attack on Orison, Crusader Industries is organizing a relief initiative to rebuild damaged areas and strengthen local defenses.
Players will be able to complete a rotating selection of contracts through the Mobile Glass. These missions cover several different activities, including resource gathering, crafting, hauling, delivery, and combat.
The event includes missions such as:
· Gather and Deliver: Collect construction and medical supplies and transport them to designated locations.
· Crafted Aid: Produce required items, including prototype thrusters, before delivering them.
· Ship Ambush: Intercept and destroy hostile ships.
· Ship Wave Attack: Defend against multiple waves of enemy vessels.
· FPS Combat: Clear Nine Tails forces from designated outposts.
Completing these contracts contributes points to a shared reward track. As players progress, they can unlock weapon and armor blueprints.
Importantly, CIG has significantly reduced the requirements for completing the event following player feedback from the PTU. The blueprints have also been removed from the traditional reward track and will instead be granted directly to player accounts. This means these rewards are intended to remain available beyond normal gameplay wipes and into the future.
More Improvements Across the Verse
Alpha 4.10.1 also introduces several quality-of-life improvements. Freight elevators will receive additional restrictions so platforms cannot be overloaded, while hauling contracts are being adjusted to better match cargo quantities, weights, and destination requirements.
Shard recovery improvements should also help address situations where a character becomes stuck on a shard and cannot properly return to the game.
CIG is still applying a large number of smaller bug fixes and optimizations. However, the experimental ship balance changes being tested through Tech Preview and IAE-related testing are not currently expected to be included in 4.10.1.
Pirate Week Continues
Meanwhile, Pirate Week 2026 has returned, bringing lawless-themed activities, cosmetics, and a treasure hunt to the 'verse. Players are encouraged to follow Spectrum, newsletters, and social channels for clues that can eventually reveal hidden rewards.
The event is expected to continue until around September 28, giving players plenty of time to participate in the festivities and hunt for its secrets.
Alpha 4.11 and Nyx
Looking further ahead, Alpha 4.11 has been pushed into Q4 2026. CIG has not yet provided a specific release date, but the update is expected to bring substantial planetary technology and exploration-related content.
Major planned features include:
· Nyx I, Nyx II, and Nyx III
· Planet Tech V5
· Genesis
· StarEngine/planet-generation improvements
· New content and locations across the Nyx system
CIG has also shown a new look at the atmosphere of Nyx III and revealed the Lightning Bolt Company Scarov DMR, providing an early glimpse at some of the content being developed for the next major update.
For now, Alpha 4.10.1 remains the immediate focus. With its combination of technical improvements, the Orison Relief Support event, and permanent blueprint rewards, the patch could provide a substantial amount of new content while CIG continues preparing Alpha 4.11 for later in 2026. Players can also consider cheap Star Citizen AUEC to support their in-game progression alongside the new activities.
