Summary:
WoW Forever is expanding the Classic experience with a much larger world map, new zones, dungeons, battlegrounds, and redesigned areas across Azeroth. Current data shows 73 maps compared with 59 in Classic Era, including new locations such as Dalaran, Riverglades, Skywatcher Plateau, wow classic anniversary gold, and Dark Spear Islands. Some details remain unfinished or subject to change as development continues.
1. Dalaran and the Skyborn Starting Zone
One of the biggest additions is a new version of Dalaran. The files include separate maps for Dalaran with and without its protective shield, suggesting that the city could be connected to a special event or dungeon transition.
Another major addition is the Skyborn starting zone, located on a separate floating island above the main continents. It includes the Port of Valinar, Shrine of Akir, Shandar Village, and the Ruins of Bonathal. Players may eventually use ships from the port to travel toward the main continents.
2. New Dungeons and Battlegrounds
WoW Forever also introduces several new dungeon locations. The Excavation Site in the Wetlands is designed for characters around levels 24 to 29 and appears to be a large outdoor dungeon. The Ruins of Lordaeron is another new low-level dungeon built around the area where Undercity would later appear.
Other dungeon-related maps include Battle for Gilneas, Hyjal Crater, and Hall of Fames. Some locations are still incomplete, so their final layouts and purposes may change.
PvP players can also look forward to new battleground content. Dark Spear Islands is a new Horde-versus-Alliance battlefield surrounded by water, while a winter version of Warsong Gulch may provide an alternative version of the familiar battleground.
3. Eastern Kingdoms Gets Major Changes
The updated Eastern Kingdoms map keeps much of the recognizable Classic structure while adding several new areas. Dalaran and Gilneas are now represented more substantially, while Stormwind finally has a proper harbor.
A large new zone called Riverglades appears east of Redridge Mountains, connected by a new route from the Swamp of Sorrows. The area is considerably larger than many existing Classic zones and could become an important exploration area.
Other changes include possible updates around the Scarlet Enclave, Gilijim's Island, and unfinished terrain south of Stranglethorn Vale.
4. Kalimdor Expands
Kalimdor also receives several new areas and terrain improvements. Northern Kalimdor has updated coastlines, while parts of Hyjal and Stonetalon Mountains have been cleaned up and expanded.
Skywatcher Plateau appears in northern Mulgore with routes toward Desolace and Stonetalon. Shendra has also been developed as a small zone accessed through southern Desolace.
Another interesting area is north of Un'Goro Crater, where new terrain appears connected to the zone's crystal theme. The large unfinished area south of Un'Goro has also received placeholder terrain.
5. What Players Should Expect
These map changes suggest that WoW Forever is designed to expand Classic Azeroth rather than completely replace its original identity. Familiar zones remain recognizable, while unfinished areas, new routes, dungeons, cities, and battlegrounds provide additional places to explore.
However, many locations are still under development. Players should therefore treat unfinished terrain and unclear map functions as development information rather than confirmed final content. As testing continues, more details about quests, progression, and the purpose of WoW TBC Classic Anniversary Gold for sale these new zones should become clearer.
