Summary
Dark and Darker Hotfix #127 brings minor improvements ahead of the upcoming EAS 11 wipe scheduled for October 9. Ironmace is focusing on server optimization, stability, and quality-of-life features while players enjoy the end-of-season Arena event. The update adds a new Stash sorting system, improves Marketplace and item management, changes Taming Shot interactions, and fixes multiple issues involving crashes, frame stuttering, dungeon modules, monsters, items, quests, Dark And Darker Gold, and Voice Chat.
1. EAS 11 Wipe Preparation
Hotfix #127 is primarily a preparation update for EAS 11. While it does not introduce a large amount of new content, the changes improve the overall experience before the wipe. Ironmace is also continuing work on larger changes planned for the new season.
Players can still participate in the current end-of-season Arena event while preparing for EAS 11 and the upcoming progression reset.
2. New Stash Sort Feature
The biggest quality-of-life addition is the new Sort button for the Stash. When players activate it, individual Gold Coins and Arrows are first placed into available Gold Containers or Quivers.
The system then combines stacks of identical items and organizes the current Stash page into a fixed category order: Weapons, Armor, Accessories, Utility, and Miscellaneous. This should make inventory management much faster, especially for players who regularly store large amounts of loot.
3. Marketplace and Inventory Improvements
Hotfix #127 also improves several basic item-management functions.
Scrap obtained by dismantling items in the Workshop can now stack with Scrap of the same rarity already in the inventory. The Marketplace sale price field is automatically selected when players choose an item to sell, allowing them to enter a price immediately.
The item split window receives a similar improvement. Its number field is automatically activated when the window opens, making it easier to enter the exact quantity players want to separate.
4. Taming Shot and Dungeon Changes
Three creatures are now immune to Taming Shot: Midnight Stag, Loot Goblin, and Flame Butterfly.
Several dungeon-specific issues have also been fixed. In Forgotten Castle - Ruins, players can no longer reach unintended high areas by climbing through the Outer Cemetery walls.
Goblin Cave - Firedeep receives fixes for Dwarves becoming blocked by rosters and for an Escape Portal spawning in the Dwarven Lockway module and overlapping with the Resurrection Altar.
In The Blue Maelstrom, floating Starfish in Mermaid Tomb have been fixed, while boats should now properly disappear after being flooded or colliding.
5. Stability and Bug Fixes
The update fixes a client crash that could occur when launching the game and Dark And Darker Gold Coins addresses frame stuttering. Barbarian's War Sacrifice sound should no longer persist incorrectly.
Potion of Luck can no longer stack its effect every time it is consumed. Completed Merchant quests should now correctly appear as completed in the Quest journal.
Faustian Bargain possession no longer causes a monster's lower body to become stuck in the ground, preventing movement.
Finally, Voice Chat has been fixed so it should no longer disconnect when players move between floors or spectate after dying.
6. What to Expect Next
Hotfix #127 is mainly a stability and QoL update rather than a major content patch. With the EAS 11 wipe scheduled for October 9, players can use the improved inventory and marketplace systems while waiting for the larger changes planned for the new season.
