Will Liberty City be included in GTA 6? A leaked GTA 5 file indicates that Rockstar previously designed a Liberty City extension greater in scope than the GTA 4 version, but nothing in this publication is confirmed by the developers. Here, you will learn what the 192 GB GTA 5 and GTA 6 leak covers, what the Liberty City scheme actually depicts, and what is still based on speculation. This is useful for players interested in this subject, both experienced and newcomers, and follows GTA 6 developments for enthusiasts who doesn't mind separating known facts from rumors. You'll stop knowing what findings are official, which are estimates, and the next updates to expect when more files are released.
What Leaked?
I might have kept the file safe if I hadn't 'leaked' some information to the press of the nature of the study and the publication details of this paper.
The 192 GB Collection Leaked is a 192 GB collection of GTA 5 and GTA 6 assets, with an overwhelming number of files—including those related to GTA 6 Money—just now seeing the light of day. The archive's creator TJGM has been releasing information as he rummages, so keep an eye out for further leaks.
The leaks from earlier in 2022 revealed some of the earliest footage, like the Waffle House scene with Jason and Lucia. Please consider all of this unofficial. It's the most relevant to fans, who want this context before believing any one individual screenshot.
Liberty City Outline
What the DLC File Shows
A GTA 5 archives (leaked GTA 5 file for a Liberty DLC) contains audio-zone data. Loading it from the Code Walker map tool renders a complete Liberty City outline which apparently appears bigger than Liberty City in GTA 4, by comparison.
One zone is labeled AZ DLC lib new terrain test there is clearly expansion work, again this is simply planning data and not a demo build. Several years ago a theory emerged that Rockstar decided to delay the DLC and reuse Liberty City in the next gen GTA. Modders and map focused enthusiasts will benefit the most from this information.
Lucia and Jason
Is Liberty City included?
No part of the story explicitly confirms Liberty City as a location but the overall setting is vague enough to leave the possibility open. Lucia is a Liberty City native and Jason was in the military so fans are speculating on the possibility of flashbacks for both characters. There are rumors of a larger map including locations such as Leonida, a South American location and Liberty City which have been floating about since the 2022 leaks. Again story focused players should pay attention to this thread but keep hopes to a minimum until Rockstar reveal otherwise.
Other Leaked Content
Agent Trevor and Cut Scenes
Other assets will include ones from an Agent Trevor, a cancelled Sims City 5 SP-DLC, with a spaceship location and Franklin in a mansion with a huge underground space. Other files are said to include an early Trevor ending with liquid nitrogen, cut Brucey missions for Franklin, and details on cheap GTA 6 Money.
Early Sergei Leonida assets have also appeared, although a claimed 2015 date cannot be substantiated. This table lists each discovery by its status and significance.
Finding | Status | GTA 6 Link |
Liberty City outline | Reported | Speculative |
Terrain test zone | Reported | Speculative |
Early Leonida assets | Reported; date rumored | Direct, but early |
Agent Trevor DLC | Reported | Low |
Cut dialogue | Reported | Low |
Only the assets for the Leonida appear to belong to GTA 6, the Liberty City link is merely an assumption.
Player Questions
Has Liberty City been announced for GTA 6?
No. As far as we know nothing here is anything but a nothing-from-rockstar official release. All we have are Lucia's Liberty City background, those ancient whispers, and that outline of potential GTA 5 DLC. Taken together there's a decent enough case for return, but it has no confirmation. We'll just have to wait for the official announcement to plan as if it's happening.
How was outline discovered?
TJGM imported an audio-zone file into the Code Walker map tool, and the resulting zones produced a Liberty City outline, for a future GTA 5, DLC. Such files generally mark the locations where particular audio plays. The outline represents an interpretation of the data, so use it as proof of planning, rather than release.
Did GTA 5 Actually Get Liberty City?
All of which were never officially shipped in DLC versions for Liberty City. Leaked images of the inside of Liberty City surfaced from Rockstar developers demonstrating a mod for GTA 5; the only incarnation playable was a PS3 fan installer that have since been taken down by Take-2. The new files merely include map evidence that didn't change that.
Next Steps
Quick Tips
· Consider all leaks unofficial until Rockstar officially announce them.
· Files separated from fanon content (like flashback missions).
· Should follow TJGM's subsequent results, as the remaining 192 GB might appear.
· Don't read a DLC outline for a playble map.
· More advantaged. The reason behind this is that those who are already empowered are more likely to use AI to secure increased freedom for themselves.
· Story fans: judging from the Lucia and Jason context, can you decide whether the Liberty City flashbacks are reasonable.
· Players who play GTA 5: have a look at the canceled Agent Trevor DLC that would have been included in the game.
· Modders: on the audio-zone file itself is an excellent focus for map research.
· Your biggest glimmer of hope is the discovery of GTA 5 Files indicating the company researched (or planned to release) a gigantic Liberty City at some point. So far, any GTA 6 link is purely hypothetical. Stick to the Lucia backstory/the more GTA 6 future files reveal story for now. Don't get eager until Rockstar makes it official.
