What Are Scrolls and Why Do They Matter?

In MapleStory Artale, as in many other servers, scrolling is an essential part of enhancing your gear. Players use scrolls to add stats to their equipment, and each scroll type has a specific success rate. In this article, I’m focusing on 10% scrolls for equipment like shoes, gloves, and capes. These scrolls provide a chance to increase the stat values of your items, making them even more valuable and functional for the challenges ahead.

The goal here is simple: increase the value of my gear to improve my overall gameplay. The best-case scenario is getting multiple successful scrolls on a single piece of gear, but as any veteran will tell you, it’s not always that easy. There’s a lot of trial and error involved, and today’s session is no different.

The Scroll Process: The Thrill and the Pain

Let’s take a look at the journey I went through with my War Gave shoes. I started with a 10% scroll, hoping for success on the first try. The first few attempts didn’t go as planned, but I kept my optimism high. There’s nothing like the rush of watching the scroll animation as the item either succeeds or breaks. In this case, I had a few failures, but I kept pushing forward, determined to land at least two successful scrolls on these shoes.

My strategy involved multiple tries with different slots. I had five-slot gear ready to go, thinking that more slots would increase my chances of landing a successful scroll. As I continued to scroll through my War Gave shoes, I hit a few moments of success—two successful scrolls in a row! My excitement peaked, and I thought I was on a roll. But as the final attempts came, the gear didn’t land perfectly. Unfortunately, I ended up running out of scrolls, leaving me with three slots still left to work with.

At this point, I had to change my approach. I decided to move on to other items, trying my luck with different gear. After all, that’s how MapleStory Artale works—sometimes, things don’t go as planned, but there’s always something else to try. I moved to some four-slot items and hoped for a better outcome. But no luck. The scrolls continued to disappoint, and I started thinking about my next steps.

The Grind: Preparing for Better Gear

After failing to achieve my ideal results with the War Gave shoes, I moved to a new strategy. I still had some hope left in me, but this time, it was focused on leveling up my gear with better stats. One of the pieces I was particularly eyeing was the 14-stat gear. I knew that finding and selling high-stat items would be crucial to my progress, especially since I’m not exactly swimming in Mesos (the in-game currency).

I decided to list my items for sale in hopes of raising some extra funds to keep scrolling. However, I quickly ran into a problem. The market for these items was pretty competitive, and there weren't many 14-stat shoes available. I did a quick check to compare prices—others were listing their gear for around 30 million MapleStory Artale Mesos, but I knew I could get by with a slightly lower price to make sure my gear would sell. At the end of the day, it’s all about supply and demand.

But, I had to keep grinding. I couldn’t just rely on my sales. I started thinking about other gear that I could focus on next—particularly my gloves. I’ve been aiming for gloves with at least six to seven stats. Five stats just weren’t cutting it anymore. Unfortunately, these things take time. I’ll have to grind for more materials, sell some of the stuff in my inventory, and hopefully, with some good luck, I’ll be able to find the perfect gloves for my character.

What's Next? The Never-Ending Cycle of Scrolling

Scrolling in MapleStory Artale is a game of patience and persistence. Even when things don’t go your way, there’s always another chance, another item to scroll, another piece of gear to enhance. After today’s experience, I’m running low on scrolls and Mesos, but I’m still committed to finishing the job. My next goal is to focus on my 12-attack gloves and see if I can score a higher stat. It’s a grind, but in the world of MapleStory Artale, that’s what makes it so rewarding.
