Mastering Chaos Slamming for Strong Amulet Crafts in POE 2

POE 2 Apr-15-2026 PST

Welcome back, Exiles! Today, we're diving into a powerful crafting technique known as Chaos Slamming, a key strategy for creating top-tier amulets in Path of Exile 2 (POE 2). Whether you're a seasoned crafter or just starting to explore the intricacies of POE 2 crafting, mastering this technique can help you produce some of the most powerful and valuable POE 2 items.

Mastering Chaos Slamming for Strong Amulet Crafts in POE 2

In this guide, we'll walk you through the process of crafting a high-level amulet using Chaos Slamming. We'll discuss everything from selecting your base to using different crafting orbs and strategies to maximize your results.

Choosing Your Amulet Base and Fracturing

The first step in creating a strong amulet is to select your base. In the crafting process I'm demonstrating, I've decided to go for increased cast speed, which is an unusual but exciting modifier choice. When deciding what modifier to fracture on your base, I recommend targeting something that aligns with your build's needs or your desired affix.

I typically prefer to purchase a blue magic item that already has the desired modifier on it. In this case, I went for an increased cast speed mod, and I was lucky enough to get a T1 max roll. Once you have your base, it's time to fracture it.

To do this, I'll use a Regal Orb, which is a budget-friendly option for this early stage. The goal is to fracture a specific modifier onto the item. This ensures that when I craft further, I'll have a solid foundation to work with. In this case, I'm using a perfect Regal Orb, as it's inexpensive, and if we miss the fracture, there's still potential for us to work with the resulting base.

The Desecration Orb Trick for Higher Fracture Odds

When preparing for the fracture, I make sure to desecrate one of the modifiers. By desecrating, I force the fracturing orb to choose between three modifiers instead of four. This increases my chances of a successful fracture, as the desecration makes one modifier "invisible" to the fracturing process. This setup is particularly useful when you're trying to fracture a specific affix onto the base.

Now that I've desecrated and prepared the item, it's time to use the Fracturing Orb and see what happens. In this case, I didn't hit the modifier I wanted on the first try, but that's part of the RNG nature of crafting in POE 2.

The Chaos Slam Phase

Once the base is fractured, it's time to enter the Chaos Slam phase. This is where the real RNG (Random Number Generation) comes into play. What we're trying to achieve here is to hit a high-value modifier, specifically +3 to Spell Skill Levels.

To begin the process, I start with Chaos Orbs, which are one of the most common forms of currency in POE 2. You can check the odds of getting a +3 to Spell Skill Levels modifier on your base through websites like Craft of Exile 2. The cost of hitting this modifier can vary, and depending on your luck, it could take anywhere from 50 to 500 Chaos Orbs—or even more.

In this case, it only took me about 80 Chaos Orbs to get the +3 to Spell Skill Levels modifier, which is pretty lucky. Sometimes the process can drag on, but it's all part of the fun. With the modifier in place, we're one step closer to finishing this amulet craft.

Exalt Slamming

At this point, I want to add a suffix to the amulet, and for that, I'll use an Exalted Orb. This adds one random modifier to the amulet, and depending on the outcome, we may either get lucky or have to start over.

In this case, I got a T4 to all attributes for the remaining suffix. While it's not the best result, it's still a usable mod, so I'm faced with a decision: Do I annul it and try again, or do I roll with it and move on?

After thinking it over, I decided to annul the attributes and see if I could hit something better. But of course, this is where the RNG can bite you, as I rolled off the +3 Spell Skill Levels modifier I had previously obtained. That's the risk of crafting in POE 2, but it's all part of the thrill.

Back to Chaos Slamming

So, after losing the Spell Skill Levels, I returned to Chaos Slamming. I went through about 365 more Chaos Orbs, and after a lot of rolling, I finally hit +3 to Spell Skill Levels once again. It wasn't easy, but persistence paid off.

Now that I had my desired modifier again, it was time to use the Exalted Orb again to add a new suffix. This time, I hit Life Regen, which wasn't exactly what I wanted but was still a decent outcome.

At this stage, I decided to keep the Life Regen modifier, as it's very useful for certain builds, especially niche Blood Mage builds that benefit from both Spell Skill Levels and Life Regen.

Finalizing the Amulet

Now that we had the core modifiers in place, I needed to focus on the prefixes. For this amulet, I wanted to add Spirit and possibly Energy Shield modifiers. After a few more Exalted Orbs and using a Perfect Essence of Enhancement, I managed to hit Maximum Energy Shield and Increased Maximum Energy Shield, which gave the amulet solid defensive stats.

To finish things off, I used Catalysts to boost the amulet's quality, focusing on Defense and Energy Shield. This raised the amulet's energy shield values significantly and added extra value to the item.

Evaluating the Final Product and Listing It

At this point, the amulet is essentially complete, and the last step is to evaluate its value in the market. Using the trade site, I looked at similar items to gauge the price, and I believe I can list this for a solid amount of POE 2 Currency. Of course, with the end of the league approaching, items like this may sit on the market for a while, but the value is definitely there.

So there you have it: the process of crafting a strong amulet using Chaos Slamming in POE 2. As you can see, this crafting technique requires patience, flexibility, and a bit of luck. While RNG plays a huge role in whether or not you succeed, the rewards of a successful craft can be enormous.

Remember, it's all about trial and error. If you're willing to spend the POE 2 Currency and take a few risks, you can create incredibly powerful items that will be highly sought after. Happy crafting, and may your RNG always be in your favor!
