This guide covers how I farmed my Headhunter in roughly 33 hours (including PC and internet issues) using strategies you can implement right now. The core strategy revolves around Legion farming with a specific Atlas tree setup, but I will also cover two alternative low-investment strategies for early league currency generation. The Primary Strategy: Legion Farming (No Beyond)

I started with an early Legion + Beyond setup but quickly removed Beyond. The reason? Six-links are incredibly cheap this league. Tainted fusings are also cheap (around 33-38 chaos instead of the usual 60-80). Because of this, Beyond ended up not being worth the investment.

Atlas Tree Setup (No Beyond)

Remove all Beyond nodes. Instead, take as many map effect nodes as possible. This is the simple, effective tree I used:

Legion nodes (for increased Legion encounter frequency and rewards)

Red altar nodes (Eater of Worlds) – these remain high value

The tree is straightforward. You do not need anything fancy. If you find the Legion boss too difficult, you can also take Endless Tide, but it is not required.

Map Rolling and Investment

You have two approaches to Legion farming:

Low Investment (Alch and Go):

Simply alch your maps and run them

No chisels, no scarabs

Still profitable, especially if you are fast and have Inspired Learning

Higher Investment (More Profit):

Use 4 chisels on each map

Always use scarabs – this is very important for early league currency. You do not need the most efficient scarabs, but using scarabs significantly increases your returns.

Scarab Setups I Recommend

Setup 1 (Expensive – Not Recommended Currently):

Three or four Legion scarabs with an officer

At 5 chaos each, these are too expensive for my taste. Only use if you have calculated the profit margin and it works for you.

Setup 2 (The One I Used – Recommended):

Two Monster Lineage scarabs

One Scarab of Forwards

One Adversaries scarab

This setup maximizes magic pack size with red altars. It does not increase Legion value directly, but it makes maps faster and generated decent profit for me.

Buying guidelines: Only buy scarabs at 2 chaos or less. Three chaos is acceptable but borderline. At four chaos, do not buy.

Important Note on Chisels

Do not chisel your maps unless you are using scarabs. At current prices, alch-and-go with chisels is not worth it. Only chisel when you are fully investing with scarabs.

Why This Strategy Works

Despite six-links being cheap, Legion farming remains lucrative if you are fast and have Inspired Learning. Inspired Learning significantly speeds up your legions per hour. Red altars also provide consistent high value, especially the currency duplication bonuses.

Alternative Strategy 1: Shuck the Play (Zero Investment)

This is an extremely early, no-investment strategy for when your character is weak.

How it works:

Run Shaper maps (guardian maps) – four different guardian maps in a rotation

Alternatively, run 10 random maps and then run the Maven invitation

Why it is profitable:

Synth maps, guardian maps, and conqueror maps sell for 7-10 chaos each

Passive income with practically zero investment

Heist chests provide additional free profit

Important: Do not alch your maps for this strategy. At most, use transmute and go. Alching can make maps too challenging for a weak early character. Transmute and go is perfectly fine.

Alternative Strategy 2: Altar + Contract Farm

This strategy is similar to Legion but easier and with less complexity. It works great for clear-speed builds.

How it works:

Farm maps with red altars (Eater of Worlds)

Collect contracts from maps

Sell contracts on Faustus

Investment options:

Low investment: Alch and go

Higher investment: Chisels + Forwards and Lineage scarabs (max magic pack size)

Higher investment increases how many red altars you get per map. Red altars are always valuable early league because the currency duplication node is expensive and highly sought after.

Get all the red altars

Go to the next map

No complex mechanics to manage

Final Tips

Inspired Learning is a game-changer for Legion farming. Prioritize getting one if you are serious about this strategy.

Scarabs matter. Even cheap scarabs are better than no scarabs. Do not skip them.

Adjust to market prices. Beyond is weak this league because tainted fusings are cheap. Next league, the optimal setup may change. Always check prices before committing to a strategy.
