PoE 3.28 Build Review Kinetic Fusillade Hierophant Madness

Path of Exile Mar-10-2026 PST

The Kinetic Fusillade Hierophant in Path of Exile 3.28 has proven to be stronger than anticipated. By the end of day one, three out of four Void Stones were completed, with roughly 90 out of 100 maps finished. The build feels smooth, powerful, and highly responsive thanks to the latest totem placement speed changes. This guide covers campaign tips, gearing strategies, Atlas progression, and additional insights for maximizing performance.

PoE 3.28 Build Review Kinetic Fusillade Hierophant Madness

Totem Placement Speed Changes

One of the biggest updates in this patch is the totem placement speed mechanic. Totems now emerge faster depending on placement speed, transforming the build into a completely different archetype. Prior to the patch, totems felt slow and clunky, limiting positioning and map-clearing efficiency. With the update, totems pop up almost instantly, allowing for rapid deployment and maintaining combat flow.

Even without gear bonuses or clusters, the placement speed is already significant. This change may also make older totem skills that previously felt too delayed viable again. The placement speed alone makes this build highly effective for both leveling and endgame content.

Campaign Tips

Currency drops are notably higher in this league, providing easy access to Exalts, Chaos Orbs, and other valuable items. Skills like Prism Wave are particularly strong for leveling; they can be acquired cheaply and double damage output at levels 25-30, accelerating progression.

Additional leveling tools, such as Lioniz Pause, improve attributes, flat damage, and movement speed, making early gameplay smoother. Greater Volley remains available from the vendor, while skill selection-such as Wrath versus Anger-depends on using Volatility for maximum damage range. Crit respecs are straightforward: removing certain middle-section crit nodes and ensuring the wand has some crit chance is sufficient for progressing through Tier 16 maps.

Gearing Highlights

Body Armor

Focus on six-link chain mail for the best balance between armor, strength requirements, and energy shield buffer. Using dense fossils to reforge defensive modifiers without losing life rolls provides a cost-effective way to maximize survivability.

Flasks

Prioritize armor, reduced curse duration, movement speed, and chaos immunity on life flasks. High currency availability makes it possible to fully optimize flasks without significant investment.

Cord Belt

A plus-one projectile belt combined with Surveillance and Watchtowers boosts Fusillade damage substantially. This ensures consistent output even when totems are delayed or destroyed.

Weapons

A wand with minor crit chance and flat damage is sufficient for campaign progression. Red map upgrades or imbued off-hand kinetic Fusillade wands can add a seventh support gem, further increasing damage output.

Gem Setup

Kinetic Fusillade - Less Duration (quality pending)

Greater Volley - Projectile control

Volatility (if using Raph) or Life Damage with Attacks

Ballista Totem Support

Cast on Crit Frenzy + Elemental Weakness

Summon Stone Golem - Extra resistances

Auras include Tempest Shield, Determination, and either Wrath or Anger. Shield Charge with Momentum and Faster Attacks on the passive tree further enhance utility. Totem survivability is improved with nodes that increase resistances and totem life, effectively doubling health against elemental damage.

Atlas Progression

Void Stones now require clearing specific quadrants in a recommended order:

Bottom-left: Decayed Void Stone (kill Exarch + Elder)

Top-right: Shaper + Elder maps

Top-left: Dread bosses

Bottom-right: Maven

Equipping the Freeze Immunity Pantheon prevents one of the biggest early-game threats. Tempest Shield ensures shock immunity, and ignite immunity can also be applied if desired.

Final Thoughts

The Kinetic Fusillade Hierophant build delivers smooth gameplay, impressive power, and strong map-clearing potential. Totem placement speed changes alone make it one of the most responsive totem builds in 3.28. Campaign drops and increased POE currency make gearing and flask setup significantly easier. While Breach content remains underwhelming in rewards, Hives provide efficient completion options.

Overall, this build is highly effective and enjoyable for both early progression and endgame content.
