The Three Progression Systems in Forza Horizon 6

Forza Horizon 6 May-23-2026 PST

Foreword

Forza Horizon 6 brings the Horizon Festival to Japan with a progression system built around racing, exploration, and multiplayer. The game introduces three main progression paths: Wristbands, Stamps, and Horizon Play. Players can also buy Forza Horizon 6 Credits (Comfort Trade) to unlock cars and upgrades faster while enjoying the full Horizon Festival experience.

Wristbands

Wristbands are the core of campaign progression. You unlock them by completing races and Festival events. To earn your first Wristband, you must finish the Horizon Qualifiers and Horizon Invitational.

Festival activities include:

  • Road Racing

  • Dirt Racing

  • Cross Country

  • Time Attack Circuits

  • Drag Meets

  • PR Stunts

As you gain more Wristbands, higher car classes and tougher events become available.

After completing a race once, the Race Customizer unlocks, allowing you to replay events using any car in your garage and customize race settings.

Special Wristband Events such as Showcase Events and Horizon Rush obstacle challenges must also be completed to progress further.

There are 7 Wristbands in total. The final Gold Wristband unlocks Legend Island and special endgame races, including the biggest Goliath race in Horizon history.

Stamps

Stamps reward exploration across Japan. Almost every discovery contributes toward Stamp progression.

You can earn Stamps by:

  • Collecting and customizing cars

  • Photographing murals

  • Smashing mascots

  • Discovering landmarks

  • Completing Street and Touge races

  • Joining Mei’s tours

  • Doing Raku-Raku food deliveries

As your Collection Journal fills, you unlock Barn Find Rumors, new homes, and other rewards.

After obtaining your first Stamp, Mei introduces her family’s abandoned Estate, where players can build and decorate their own home in the open world.

The Stamp system is inspired by Japan’s real-world stamp collecting culture, turning exploration into a meaningful part of progression.

Horizon Play

Horizon Play focuses on online multiplayer and competitive modes.

Popular game modes include:

  • The Eliminator

  • Hide & Seek

  • Touge Showdown

  • Spec Racing

  • Horizon Drift

Players can also use Custom Racing and Custom Drifting to choose car classes and race types.

Horizon Play has its own leveling system. You gain XP by playing multiplayer events and unlock new Badges every 10 levels up to Level 100.

Multiplayer progression also helps campaign progress. Horizon Play levels up to 25 reward Horizon Festival Points for Wristband advancement.

Leaderboards track top players in every mode and reset each Festival Playlist Series.
