Summary
WoW Forever continues to reveal interesting systems and changes during beta testing. Recent discoveries include improved weapon movement, unique clam-related items, possible mega-dungeon content, weapon transmog options, collectible books, potential Arenas, PvP adjustments, and stronger action against WOW Forever Gold trading. Some features are confirmed beta discoveries, while others remain possible future content.
1. Devastator and Movement Speed
The famous Devastator axe now allows players to move while its spinning effect is active. Movement is reduced to 80% of normal speed, but being able to move during the effect can make the weapon considerably more flexible.
Night Elf players should also know that their 2% movement-speed racial bonus does not currently stack with Minor Speed on Boots. It is unclear whether this is intentional or a beta bug that Blizzard will change later. For PvP, movement speed can be particularly important because even a small advantage can affect positioning and escapes.
2. New Clam-Related Items
One of the strangest discoveries involves a collection of items designed around opening clams and finding pearls. Several items appear to work together as a specialized setup.
Some gloves increase damage by 5% after looting a pearl, while special boots can find a clam after traveling 100 yards. A clam bag increases the chance of obtaining a pearl by 10%. The Epic Ashara Crab Pot consumes clam meat to summon a crab companion that fights for one minute.
Players may eventually experiment with macros and builds designed around collecting clams, pearls, and these bonuses.
3. Possible Mega-Dungeon Content
Josh Greenfield has teased a dungeon concept compared with Blackrock Depths. This has created speculation about a large WoW Forever dungeon with multiple wings, quests, and bosses.
Blackmaw Hold is already known as a high-level dungeon, but the exact relationship between this teased concept and future dungeon content remains unconfirmed. A BRD-style design could allow groups to complete individual sections instead of clearing everything.
4. Weapon Transmog and Collectible Books
WoW Forever now allows some weapons to be transmogged onto the back or hip. This gives players more control over how certain swords and other weapons appear.
Another new collectible system involves finding books throughout the world. After collecting 10 books, players can receive a quest with a choice of necklaces. Collecting 20 provides a choice between rings. Additional rewards may exist for specific classes, although some item descriptions currently appear to contain errors.
5. Arenas and PvP Changes
A possible Arena NPC has been discovered, creating speculation that Arenas could eventually arrive in WoW Forever. However, Blizzard has not officially confirmed the feature.
Meanwhile, reduced critical damage in PvP recently caused concern among players. Blizzard has reportedly indicated that the change was a bug and will be corrected.
6. Gold Enforcement and Upcoming Content
Blizzard has also taken action against accounts involved in gold selling, including reports of cheap WOW Forever Gold permanent bans. Players should therefore be aware that gold-related rule violations can carry serious account consequences.
Finally, Blizzard is scheduled to showcase a previously unseen dungeon at PAX Australia in October. Whether it connects to the teased mega-dungeon concept remains to be seen, but it should provide another important look at WoW Forever's upcoming dungeon content.
