A Technical Guide to Crafting the Horned Dragon Bow in Aion 2
This document outlines the methodology used to craft the Horned Dragon Bow, the current strongest weapon in Aion 2. The process required eight characters and consistent gameplay over several weeks. This guide details material acquisition, market analysis, crafting procedures, enhancement statistics, and soul binding optimization.

Phase 1: Post-Crafting Reset and Market Analysis
Before beginning the Horned Dragon Bow grind, all prior resources were expended in the creation of an Ebony Guard weapon. This included all Aion 2 Kinah, Aion 2 items/materials, and season shop currency, resulting in a zero-resource starting point.
The initial step involved systematic market research. All required materials were added to the favorites list for daily price monitoring. The objective was to establish baseline price points to identify optimal purchasing windows. This strategy proved effective when the price of Artisan Splendent Bows decreased following a game update that introduced Dragon Lord Cores as farmable items from Conquest Dungeons. Five units were acquired at approximately 3 million Kinah each.
Phase 2: Material Requirements and Acquisition Methods
The following materials are required for the Horned Dragon Bow recipe. Each requires a distinct acquisition strategy.
Artisan Refining Stone
This component is among the more difficult to obtain. While market purchase is an option, an alternative farming method exists: achieving Alchemy Professional Level 50 on multiple characters yields two refining stones per character. Note that the cost of leveling alchemy may exceed the market price of the stones. Additional units were obtained from the Shugo Festival event and as random drops during Conquest dungeon runs.
Enhanced Robust Scale
Market prices for this material are typically elevated. The recommended approach is to purchase base components and craft the scales directly. The target purchase price range was 150,000 to 200,000 Kinah per unit. The recipe requires approximately 244 units, accounting for crafting failures. In this case, five failures occurred, necessitating 254 total units. Additional units were obtained from Sanctuary runs, though yield was limited to two characters over three weeks, producing fewer than 20 units.
Ratful Materials
Four distinct Ratful materials constitute the bulk of the required components. These are primarily obtained from dungeons and the season shop. Having exhausted season shop resources on prior crafts, manual farming through repeated Conquest dungeon runs was necessary. Higher-tier dungeons now drop Mind and Will materials, which are bound but transferable between characters via server storage. Sanctuary runs on appropriately geared characters (Cleric or Chanter) can supplement this, though yield may be limited depending on roster composition.
Radiant Log and Radiant Odile
These materials are challenging to farm in quantity. The Shugo Festival provided the majority of units, with the remainder purchased from the market. Given a requirement of 191 units, farming the entirety is impractical. Price comparison between Radiant Log and Radiant Odile is essential; if Odile is cheaper, it can be converted via the Substance Morph system.
Phase 3: Currency Generation
Sustained Kinah generation is fundamental to the process. Sources include:
Open world mob farming
Daily Duty rewards
Conquest dungeon runs
Transcendence runs
Abyss farming
Ascension Trials
Consistent execution of these activities across multiple characters over several weeks generated the necessary capital.
Phase 4: Crafting and Enhancement
After accumulating all materials, the crafting process commenced. The initial craft succeeded, producing the base weapon.
Enhancement statistics were as follows:
+16 to +17: Failed
+17 to +18: Failed (35% success rate)
+18 to +19: Failed (20% success rate)
+19 to +20: Succeeded on first attempt
Starting Kinah: 75 million. Remaining after +20: 50 million. Handstone expenditure: approximately 25 million.
Phase 5: Star Enhancement
Star enhancement probabilities decrease progressively. The target was four to five stars.
3 Stars: 33% success rate. Achieved in two attempts.
4 Stars: 25% success rate. Achieved in four attempts.
5 Stars: 12.5% success rate, decreasing to 10% and lower. Achieved on the final available amplify stone.
Total Kinah expenditure for star enhancement: 54 million.
Phase 6: Soul Binding Optimization
The final phase involved optimizing soul bind stats. The desired stats were Damage Boost and Multi-Hit.
Sixteen books were available for initial rolls. Subsequent attempts required additional material morphing. The optimal strategy is to reserve one skill slot to facilitate achieving 100% soul bind completion. Identifying desired stats in the extra slot is preferable to avoid re-binding.
